• Complete Monster: Ma'Lethu Ko Rann, the evil Shadow King, is an Ancient Evil who plunged the primordial world into civil wars and mass death to feast on the agony. When he was banished by Clan Pyre, the Shadow King returns through a deal with demonic beings, having them slaughter most of Clan Pyre on his behalf—including the mother of the protagonists—wearing her skull and mocking her daughters with the gruesome visage.
• Theiss Titillation Theory: The only logical explanation why the ladies' outfits don't fall off is that they must be using their telekinesis to keep them in place. Specially their bathing suits◊.
• What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: Subverted. The first issue was rated PG, but the following two were released with Marvel MAX brand.
