Broken Base: The Wii has seen it's share of the base being broken over the years due to having weak hardware, poor 3rd party support, and poor 1st and 2nd party support starting in 2010 causing severe software droughts at times. But now with the announcement of Nintendo discontinuing certain Wii services like WiiConnect24, there's another broken base upset over the loss of these services.
Scrappy Mechanic: Friend Codes. You had to share your code with anyone you wanted to play with online, and friend codes had to be entered separately for each game.
Vindicated by History: "It Will Never Catch On" was a common reaction to the Wii pre-launch. Now look at it-outsold PS3 and 360 by a huge margin, and Sony and Microsoft came up with their own motion-control setups for their consoles. Even hardcore gamers who disliked the casual focus had to admit that Wii's Zelda and Mario games were awesome.
