** Or Harsher, Dawn is basically, later seasons Meg. Welcome to the Dollhouse debuted in 1995, while the Family Guy debuted in 1999. Although, Chris and Stewie are much nicer to Meg than Dawn's siblings are to her.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Dawn. She's either a straight up woobie, a JerkassWoobie or even a SympatheticSue suffering from a lot of DeusAngstMachina. It helps that the film suffers a lot from TooBleakStoppedCaring.

*HollywoodHomely: If not for her demeanor, Dawn could pass as pretty cute in an adorkable way.

* HilariousInHindsight: Throughout the film Dawn is taunted with being a lesbian. Years later, Creator/HeatherMatarazzo (who played Dawn) came out as a lesbian. Even better. In interviews, she points out she didn't know what "lesbo" meant, so she asked someone on the set. That is when she figured out she was a lesbian.

Fan Myopia. And if it's in a dark and twisted way, it would be considered Harsher, not Hilarious.

Added DiffLines:

* ValuesDissonance: Dawn being bullied for allegedly being a lesbian. Not only would this be considered hate speech today (which is typically a big no-no at schools), but most junior-highschool kids today would probably react to the knowledge that a girl was a lesbian with a "yeah, so?"

Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

* DesignatedVillain: Missy, who's only crime is being TheAce and making Dawn jealous. The only mean thing she does in the movie is pushing dawn into a wading pool.

There doesn't seem to be any real explanation for how she's a Villain Protagonist or on the way to becoming one. Not to mention Palindromes and Wiener Dog depict two different futures for Dawn, neither of which imply she turned to villainy.

* ProtagonistJourneyToVillain[=/=]VillainProtagonist: Dawn herself could be interpreted to be on her way to becoming a bad girl herself, depending on how you see it.
