  • Awesome Music: The Sneak tracks and the boss fight music.
  • Crazy Is Cool: The Hermit. An old janitor who's taken to living in the vents, he's incredibly friendly, somewhat scatterbrained, gives you special gear if you help find cards for him, is best friends with a turtle plushy named Turty, and hunts rats with a crossbow. Mxthe has gone on record saying that the Hermit is his favorite character.
  • Even Better Sequel: Prologue and Chapter One have some noticeable quality jumps- Chapter Ones house builds on the atmosphere far more, and has a lot less scares, relying more on erie silence and some large tension building. Chapter One itself also expands greatly upon the Prologue in the shooting portions, with better gunplay and weapon variety, as well as being more open-ended, far longer and with a larger emphasis on survival horror and exploration, allowing it to gel better with The House.
  • Gainax Ending: The rest of Chapter 1 after Jake is shot in the head.
  • Narm: Some voice actors don't really do a good job.
    • "I'M GONNA PUNCH YOUR BUTTHOLE!"
  • Moment of Awesome: When Jake fights Danko and Marcus, and the dream at the end of Chapter One.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • You're a prisoner trapped in an underground facility teeming with zombies (which are not only fast, but can climb ladders). The power's gone; not only are the lights out, but a good portion of the security doors are sealed shut, making getting around near-impossible. Oh, and if the zombies don't get you, you might just starve to death before you can get out.
    • At one point in the lobby of the North Wing, all of the doors suddenly lock. Terry and Ben start discussing why, with Ben mentioning that he thinks someone else might be moving around the facility, due to patterns of cameras cutting out. As he continues with this train of thought, the music builds, and Ben's voices gets more and more frantic until he realizes that the path of dead cameras leads straight to the lobby. And then the invisible robot assassins leap down from the balcony above and open fire.
  • Out of Focus: Eric and his team.
  • Too Cool to Live: Terry.
