* CompleteMonster: LC from the sequel. His lack of redeeming qualities takes to the extent of strangling his willing lover and apprentice for no reason than venting his rage for Kham's meddling in his plans.
* MemeticMutation: The famous [[TheOner Oner]] got a minor one with "Terry Yum Goong", which replaced all the audio with fighting game voice clips and sound effects (Tony Jaa being voiced by [[VideoGame/FatalFury Terry]] [[VideoGame/TheKingOfFighters Bogard.]])
* MoralEventHorizon: Madame Rose [[spoiler:kills off both the other eligible successors to the family business in the same scene. One is ''just a kid''.]]
** Worse... [[spoiler:the kid is mentioned to be ''her own son'']].
* TearJerker: Kham's breakdown upon seeing [[spoiler:Por Yai's skeleton]] along with [[spoiler:the flashbacks of the two of them living together]] is pretty heartbreaking.
* {{Sequelitis}}: While the first film was liked despite his goofiness, ''Tom Yum Goong 2'' received universally harsh critics by fans and pundits. They cited its confusing plot, increased amounts of {{Narm}}, wasting of supporting talents, poor and unoriginal choreographies in comparison with Jaa's earlier films, and the fact that Jaa abandoned his wireless stunting for more unoriginal action.
* SpecialEffectFailure: In the sequel it's painfully obvious that some stunts are done in CGI and green screens.
