• Angst? What Angst?: The Frigg explains the rite to return the gods to Asgard, including the part where her brother actually dies. She all but shrugs when asked about it, and simply says he knew what would happen to him. After the rite she happily pairs off with her true love, and no mention of her brother's death is made.
• Blessed with Suck: How Ty views his powers. To be fair, his powers do kind of suck: he's mostly numb to sensation and accidentally froze Dawn while they were in bed.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In series 2, we are introduced to the Maori Gods. Their leader is Māui, who gained more world notice four years later in Disneys Moana
• Hollywood Homely: Played straight and somewhat exaggerated with Delphine, who has moles and a small boil on her face and wears frumpy clothes (which may well hide the fact that she's pregnant). Olivia Tennet, the actress who plays Delphine, is much more attractive in real life.
• Ho Yay: Zeb's admiration of Axl and addressing him constantly as "My Lord Odin" does make it seem like he's more than a little bit in love with him. Especially, since he tried to convince Axl to have sex with him when Axl was a woman.
• I Knew It!: Gaia going to be Frigg, before fate intervened.
• Memetic Mutation: "It's not a coma!" (Referring to "Coma Rob".)
• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Keisha Castle-Hughes of Whale Rider fame as Gaia.
  • Timothy Balme of Maddigan's Quest as Mike Johnson/Ullr.
  • Several alumni of Outrageous Fortune make their appearances on this show, most notably Ben Barrington as Olaf Johnson/Baldr, Antonia Prebble as Sonja, the librarian who works at Axl's school, and Siobhan Marshall as a gender bent Axl and Frigg
  • Several Power Rangers alumni also make their appearance, most notably Michelle Langston (SPD's Dr. Kat Manx) as Michele/Sjöfn, and Olivia Tennet (RPM's Dr. K) as Delphine, the daughter of Derrick/Thor. Tennet also played the part of Tuesday Warner on Shortland Street.
  • Dean O'Gorman is becoming recognized more after playing Fíli.
  • New Zealand viewers will recognise Jared Turner (who plays Ty) as "that guy from the Energywise ads".
  • Dean O'Gorman and Rachel Nash had one-shot roles in Legend of the Seeker, so fans may recognize them from that.
• The Woobie: Several.
  • The montage near the end of the final episode of season 3.
  • Amongst the Johnson brothers, Ty, mainly because he always ends up being the "best friend a girl could ever have" (though he gets better for a while with Dawn).
  • Amongst the secondary characters, Dawn, Anders's assistant, who always ends up cleaning up after his literal and figurative messes. Delphine could also be considered one for being the daughter of Derrick/Thor and for breaking down into tears when Axl gets annoyed with her.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Anders and Mike to an extent.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Season three seems to be hit-or-miss with a lot of the show's fans, mainly due to the fact that some major plot elements - the Godhunters, Gaia becoming Idunn and subsequent strain in Axl and Anders' relationship - are introduced and dropped fairly quickly with little or no fanfare.
• Weak, but Skilled: After being abducted and held hostage by Eggther, Zeb saves his own life via "Reverse Stockholm Syndrome"; he skillfully coaxes Eggther into befriending instead of killing him. Eggther becomes so fond of his "little buddy" that he allows Zeb to talk him out of killing Gaia.
