• Just Here for Godzilla: While this film isn't appreciated by many, the only real reason people see this film is to see Dwayne Johnson in one of his first roles and with hair.
• Paranoia Fuel: Don't hurt people's feelings or crush people's spirits otherwise you will be subject to a rather embarrassing task by a supernatural society.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Derek Thompson is painted as this person who is trying to figure out life and how to sympathize with children, but given he deliberately hurts people's feelings and their own hopes, it’s very difficult to even try and feel sorry for him.
