YMMV: The Mirage
Magnificent Bastard: Bin Laden. The novel's characterization of Bin Laden (which is also disturbingly close to his Real LifeBack Story) does a remarkably good job of establishing what a truly detestable human being he is, yet it's rather difficult for the reader to not develop some kind of grudging respect for just how brilliant his scheme (and thus, the plot of the novel) is.
