YMMV / The Mark of the Lion

  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming: Marcus and Hadassah's final, for-keeps Relationship Upgrade at the end of An Echo in the Darkness. After all they've been through, they couldn't possibly deserve it more, and it is adorable.
  • Poison Is Evil: In the first book, Julia poisons her abusive husband to be rid of him. It's tempting to count this as an inversion since he was such a vicious brute, but considering that its opened the door for her to do worse things afterwards, it could still count as a straight example. It pretty much depends on how you weigh the picture as a whole, since itís pretty ugly no matter what.
