- Hilarious in Hindsight: A bird character being named Twitter was perfectly normal in The '90s. With the rise of Twitter, even the books' target audience won't take it seriously now. The reprint renames him to Pip.
- Narm Charm: The books are very simplistic, cheesy, and full of Ass Pulls, but they're beloved by the people who grew up with them, and they've survived to be reprinted for a 2020s audience.
- Toy Ship: Demetra/Wink is close to canon, and there's a small but vocal contingent of Roxanne/Rudgrin shippers.
