YMMV / The Bay

• Harsher in Hindsight: In 2020, with a global pandemic happening (and one that's believed to be at least indirectly caused by the meat trade to boot), it's easy to see this story where authorities downplay a deadly disease in order to further control the town, ignore scientists and doctors, and refuse to take responsibility once people are dying, can be seen as even scarier than it was during its release.
• Nausea Fuel: Mass fish kills, larvae-infested fish, mountains of chicken droppings, vomiting, hideous skin lesions, blood, corpses, isopods eating their way out of victims' skin ... it's probably easier to list things from the film that aren't nausea fuel.
• Nightmare Fuel: The film is a rich source of it. From the Body Horror-inducing effects of the infection to the clear pain the victims are in to the way the hospital is lit… There’s a good chance that you’ll never see isopods the same way again after watching this film.
