* AcceptableTargets: There is an entire "shit list" of things and people the annotators love to mock.

* FetishRetardant: The entirety of ''Chichi Miko!!''. Especially the absurd Conan-esque outfit the grandmother wears at one point and the extreme GagBoobs.

* CriticalResearchFailure:
** In Episode 11 of ''The Super Mario Bots. Super Show'', an annotation starts calling side character Butterfingers with the names of other characters [[ActorAllusion sharing]] [[Creator/TaraStrong her same voice actress]], including [[WesternAnimation/TeenTitans Starfire]]. Tara Strong voices Raven, not Starfire.

* IdiotPlot: Lampshaded mercilessly many times.

*** Farmer John is reformed [[LetsPlay/TheKingOfHate DarksydePhil]] who quit Let's Plays and became a farmer.

** Jimmy Lee from ''[[WesternAnimation/DoubleDragon Double Dragon]]'' for being a grumpy, Protoman-esque tough guy.

** Brock's girl chasing aspect is ramped UpToEleven in the ''Pokemon Learning League'' one-off to where he's actually stalking them with his attempts to get their attention.

** The abductors in ''Get Street Smart'' don't want to rape Capricorn due to being a preteen, but because they have a fetish for alien booty. Taken UpToEleven during the climax where even the cops want to do him.

** The constant subtext between Harry, Morrigan, and Felicia in ''Darkstalkers'', which the Annotators deliberately cranked UpToEleven.

* RelationshipWritingFumble: Any work which attempts to do any sort of relationship tends to get this reaction.
** There are mixed opinions as to whether the HoYay between Eggplant Wizard and King Hippo from ''Captain N'' is this or intended by the writers.

** Mr. Clipboard from ''Foodfight!'', due to the fact he's voiced by Creator/ChristopherLloyd and his UncannyValley movements being '''humorous''' rather than unsettling. Plus Mr. Clean for not having his image further tarnished by speaking.

** Wild Woody's [[UncannyValley uncanny]] appearance put several annotators off.

** Brand X from ''Foodfight!'', due to the FlatCharacter protagonists combined with the other mascot characters falling deep into the UncannyValley. Granted, some were uncomfortable about the [[ANaziByAnyOtherName Nazi overtones]] of Brand X. Most of the rooting went to Mr. Clipboard, a OneSceneWonder who quickly became the film's EnsembleDarkhorse.

* UncannyValley: Present and accounted for whenever CG or Flash Animation is shown in a riffed work.
** The phrase itself gets a mention in ''[=JayJay=]'' at one point.

** Donkey Ollie's appearance after his fight with the jackels in ''The Adventures of Donkey Ollie'', to the point where he was censored out of one shot just to protect the annotators from having to see it more than they needed to.

* DesignatedHero: The Annotators ''will'' spot when heroes are [[MoralDissonance doing something the villains would get reprimanded for]], [[{{Hypocrite}} acting against something they preached earlier]], or [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking just general dickery]]. They really ripped into the protagonists of ''Sonic Underground'', especially in Episode 32.

* EightDeadlyWords: [[invoked]]
** The Annotators end up not caring for most of the protagonists, sometimes extending to not caring about what they do. The easiest way to tell when this is in play is when the protagonists are in mortal danger. [[labelnote:Example]]If someone is holding someone else's hand to keep them from falling off a cliff, expect a few annotations along the lines of "DROP HIM."[[/labelnote]]
** The inverse also applies; the Annotators start to care more about characters that are supposed to be ignored.

** The Danger Rangers, usually Burble, are regularly fed up with the TooDumbToLive natures of the kids they regularly save and threaten to unleash their animalistic instincts quite often.

*** Sonic as a closeted mtf transsexual (or genderfluid), due to the bizarrely large number of scenes in the show where he crossdresses as part of a disguise.

* VindicatedByHistory: [[AvertedTrope Averted]] with ''Tricky People''. In their re-riff, the annotators found it far more uncomfortable to watch than they had remembered thanks to the horribly jarring shifts in tone between scenes and the genuinely unsettling actions of Reginald Charming.
