* AcceptableTargets: Tommy Wiseau has become this after pulling two reviews of ''Film/TheRoom'' off the site.
** [[CargoShip Objectophiles]]. Usually it's just Nash, but at 54 minute mark it spills over [[http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/10581706 into this livestream]] with Jew Wario, Paw, and PushingUpRoses as well.
** Australians (at least when Aussie was around to tease).
* ActorShipping: Doug/Lindsay is pretty popular, as like a LighterAndSofter pairing to the FoeYay of Critic/Chick. (As she's never appeared in videos, fanfic will usually ignore his wife.)
* AnimationAgeGhetto: Completely and thankfully averted. Most of the TGWTG staff openly admits to going to see animated movies and thinks of animation as every bit as equal to live-action film-making.
* ArcFatigue: The PsychoticLoveTriangle between Chick, Todd and Lupa went on for a '''long''' time, finally getting resolved in WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee. By the end, RL!Todd, Lindsay and Alison had all expressed wishes for it to be over, feeling like it had strayed into creepy territory instead of just BlackComedy.
* ArchiveBinge: Each critic has multiple hours of content, not including crossovers. Then you get to their cameos, other critic's works, vlogs, the anniversaries... if you're trying to catch up, you have our condolences. The only plus side is that you can generally hop around if you get bored of one critic.
* BaseBreaker: Before she left in October 2014, WebVideo/JesuOtaku developed a reputation for being as caustic as The Distressed Watcher or Spoony - even more so when she openly stated the TGWTG fanbase was toxic and fans became upset at her lack of updates and thrashing of (among other things) Young Justice, The Legend of Korra, and RWBY, to the point where her main and YMMV pages on the site have had to be locked after she had fans vandalize her TVTropes page and joined Website/SomethingAwful's forums to mock RWBY and TVTropes some more. The Secret Treehouse has put a ban on any more fics featuring her in any way, shape or form.
* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: This trope was first [[TropeNamers named]] by the Nostalgia Chick (after a scene from ''AllDogsGoToHeaven''), while she and the Critic were reviewing ''WesternAnimation/FernGullyTheLastRainforest''. It's been lampshaded in-universe a few times too.
** The Nostalgia Critic sings a hilarious rendition of ''[[Film/TheRockyHorrorPictureShow "Sweet Transvestite"]]'' while the Nostalgia Chick randomly plays the accordion in the background.
-->'''Nostalgia Critic''': (Singing) I'm just a cheap toxic-ite from Transsexual... (Looks over at the Nostalgia Chick in confusion)
--->'''Nostalgia Chick''': "Did that make any sense?"
--->'''Nostalgia Critic''': "No."
--->'''Nostalgia Chick''': "Are you ever going to mention it again?"
--->'''Nostalgia Critic''': "Probably not."
--->'''Nostalgia Chick''': "BigLippedAlligatorMoment!"
*** WEAPONIZED by The Nostalgia Chick in The 1 Year Anniversary video. She says the words, and what happens next perfectly fits the criteria for a BLAM.
** During the Critic and Nerd crossover review:
-->"But why worry about that when you can sing along to giant surfing alligators -- wait, ''what''?!"
* BizarroEpisode: The ''Film/CoolWorld'' review with [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Linkara]] and WebVideo/MarzGurl, since the movie required it...
** ''The Music/{{Bjork}} Show''. There's a genie, and jump cut teleportation, and a rotting bologna sandwich?
** All the '''ComicBook/{{Warrior}}'' reviews by Linkara and [[TheSpoonyExperiment Spoony]], also because the source material is so weird.
* BrokenBase: Do you love the lack of fourth wall, with them reading fanfic (often calling it hot), giving {{fanservice}} based on Fetish Fuel pages and seeing constantly what people write about them on this very site, or are you freaked out by it like some of them are?
** There are people who think Spoony being out of TGWTG is bad, some who think it's a good thing and some who don't care either way. [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgment And we'll just leave it at that]].
** ''Film/ManOfSteel'' divided the team heavily- Hope, Doug, Rob, Brad and Mathew mentioned that they hated it (though Mathew does admit it has some great moments), whilst Joeand Bennett liked it, and [=ERod=] initially thought it was average (later, [=ERod=] changed her opinion and declared that he moved to the hatebase of the movie). Hope's hatred was so intense, Bennett asked if she was just transferring her hatred of ''Sucker Punch''.
** Some fans are annoyed at the sheer number of critics who review movies or anime, saying that TGWTG should hire critics who review books or television. Others argue that each critic brings funny enough jokes/ a different enough opinion to make it work.
** [[https://twitter.com/Obscurus_Lupa/status/461595746727256065 A]] [[https://twitter.com/HopeWithinChaos/status/461596210826973184 lot]] [[https://twitter.com/PushinUpRoses/status/461596033579880448 of]] [[https://twitter.com/TheOmegaGeek/status/461592490177732608 producers]] ([[http://tgwtgsecrets.tumblr.com/post/84342130566/tgwtg-and-patreon along with a lot of fans]]) were angry about their patreons/kickstarters/indiegogos [[note]]and with most promising no more mid-rolls, it can be assumed they just need the support and the money[[/note]] not being allowed to be advertised on the site, especially since the site itself has an indiegogo with not much to show for it. Other fans have dismissed the complaints with essentially "you don't work for the site so you should be on your own" or "you just want special treatment".
** The 2014 Talent Pick Up was met with great excitement, since it would allow for numerous Blip and Youtube reviewers to get the limelight they've been seeking for years... except [[https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-Wvz6X-tvFn_wQqgQCQEShi87xXM77Ox5ITRnCLSir8/preview?sle=true when people started looking at the people who were recruited]], certain things caused splits. Namely:
*** At least three horror movie critics, namely due to people feeling ItsBeenDone by this point.
*** The remaining ChezApocalypse members who weren't already on TGWTG such as Rantasmo and Sursum Ursa were all picked up (people felt that the Chez members were given preferential treatment over other reviewers because they were friends with Lindsay).
*** [[https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2eoUwRQr976z9JBVEHSbEA One person]] who the Google Doc says was hired has only put out ''four videos'' and has only been doing reviews since April earlier in the year. This enraged a lot of people who felt that people who had already proven themselves should have gotten the spot, and others said that there was no proof that the reviewer may not be able to cope with the pressure (To the reviewer's credit, she has since started putting out frequent material).
*** The list of more high-profile reviewers who were rejected in favor of relative nobodies includes people like Cinematic Excrement, Derek The Bard and WebVideo/TheFilmRenegado. This... made some fans unhappy.
*** Also when people got rejected, [[https://twitter.com/TamaraLChambers/status/492128559696072704 they were told]] TGWTG wanted more original content. The only people accepted so far have been nothing but reviewers, and as mentioned, they hired ''three'' more horror critics.
*** Even [=NerdVice=] talk about how badly the pick-up was handled towards the end of [[http://nerdvice.com/2014/08/01/the-insert-witty-name-show-ep-13-get-sparkly-pants-but-dont-think-of-this-as-a-profitable-business/ this podcast]].
** As mentioned in both “Ignition Point” and “Jake The Dog”, the Adventure Time vlogs have created a split between those who just want Doug/Jason/Jori (usually they complain about Jason or Jori being there in the first place) to shut up about personal stuff and talk about the episode in detail, and those who don't care so much about the reviews and just watch to see Jason/Jori be cute/treat Doug kindly or see what TMI Doug will spout this time.
*** For that matter, Doug with Jason/Jori vs Doug with Rob. There's no doubt that the Laws treat him nicer, call him out when he's being a dick, and Doug is more open about his beliefs with them. But a substantial amount of people are uncomfortable with that, and for numerous reasons they would go as far as to say they like Rob better than Doug, so enjoy the vlogs with him more.
** The decision to move to a completely new website instead of finally getting that damn site update. Some are fine with it and like the new site (Arguing that the drop down menus are a lot more easy to function), while some think it looks ''worse'' than the old place (Due to an over-abundance of white) or feel that the site advertises Critic/Doug above the others with the cartoons of characters from his shows instead of a team shot or just a site logo. Ask That Guy fans are particularly irked, as the only video announcement of the site changing was in his finale and he died just to supposedly change the focus from Doug (That Guy With The Glasses) to everyone else (Channel Awesome) but as many people have stated including former producers, the banner is majority characters from Critic, which should tell you what show the company cares about.
** The Indiegogo project of 2013 promised new shows and new equipment in a new studio, and got nearly 90 grand. It was only in ''2015'' that the ''first'' episode of the planned project was released- during the 18 or so months in between, numerous people wondered if they'd gotten ripped off. Adding onto that, after the Indiegogo was heavily advertised, multiple critics were surprised that (at first) they weren't allowed to advertise their own Kickstarters or Patreon accounts.
* CompleteMonster: [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Mechakara]] and [[WebVideo/SuburbanKnights Malachite]]. See those pages for details.
* CrossesTheLineTwice:
** "Spooning With Spoony". Which was tame compared to "Spooning with Spoony 2".
** The [[Franchise/MetalGear Solid Snake]] Video Game Confessions may just be the best example. A five-year-old Snake witnessing his parents' murder as he hides under a box: horrifying. The killer proceeding to do a tap dance on their bodies, put on a puppet show, and so on: bloody hilarious.
** [=LordKaT=]. Oh God, his non Until We Win stuff is some of the most [[BlackComedy foul]] and hilarious stuff out there.
-->"''I wonder if that asian boys ass is still tight.''"
--> (after a review ends) "''Just in time for recess.''"
** The Distressed Watcher attempted to do this often during his tenure on the site, [[DudeNotFunny though for some, he didn't quite cross over a second time.]]
* DudeNotFunny: Following [=JewWario=] of You Can Play This! tragically committing suicide in January 2014, not one, but two videos Doug did in February (Ghost Dad and the When Is A Movie Just A Movie? Editorial) had suicide jokes (More so in Ghost Dad, which is a walking suicide joke). Fan response was... not pretty, especially on Tumblr.
** Again with suicide, but a year earlier, in a ''LegendOfKorra'' vlog, Doug randomly put in a minute long rant about how he should kill himself. Most of the comments told him off for being too dark when all people had expected/wanted was a quick review.
* EarWorm: Doug's Theme Lyrics.
** Most of the opening themes too. And SongAssociation will inevitably ensue.
* EnsembleDarkHorse:
** 8-Bit Mickey, thanks to his appearance in the Brawl.
** Bhargav Dronamraju as [[CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers Ma-Ti]], who first appeared as a cutaway joke in the Critic's review of ''Captain Planet'', and has since become a recurring character in his videos, and elsewhere.
* EstrogenBrigade: Jason likes to joke that he's the fanservice in the vlogs instead of Doug because there's more gifs of him shaking his ass or showing his crotch. A lot of women actually do like him because they think he's adorkable, a nice husband and dad, more healthy looking than Doug, defends good female characters and does the best job of keeping Doug in check. Plus there's nobody else that Doug has lampshaded HoYay with anymore.
* FanficFuel: In the WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee Making Of extra, everyone talked about what they would like the next anniversary to be. While most people wanted the usual, like a musical or a murder mystery, Doug was surprisingly morbid and said he had an idea for the [[EveryoneIsJesusInPurgatory TGWTG universe to really be]] ''[[EveryoneIsJesusInPurgatory hell]]''. But as there's no budget for that kind of story, the fanfic writers took it and ran with it.
* FanHater: There's a whole subsection of the fanbase who seem to watch the shows just so they can rant about how crap they are. No such forum shall be vindicated by being named here, but they are numerous.
* FoeYay: More than oft, a crossover will feature the reviewers at severe odds with each other, all the while snarking it up through horrible movies together.
* FunnyAneurysmMoment: In the "Tommy Wiseau Show," Doug plays both "Tommy Wiseau" and "John from Film/TheRoom[=Movie.com=]". Then [[SockPuppet this]] [[http://www.willdendis.com/The_Room_Harpers.pdf possibility]] came to light. (though it could also be HilariousInHindsight)
** The jokes on Transmission Awesome about Aussie wanting to fire other people (especially Sean) turn into this considering what happened to him.
** Any jokes about the reviewers being DrivenToSuicide because of the mediocrity of the subject matter after JewWario committed suicide.
** In 2012, Doug (in DepravedBisexual mode) did an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvAodm77l78 interview]] where he joked he had a teabagging incident with Justin that went badly wrong, and then makes a cross sign that is usually for mourning a dead person.
* GratuitousSpecialEffects: Many reviewers use special effects such as when WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic had a laser shootout with WebVideo/TheAngryVideoGameNerd. The effects add quirky, funny elements to the videos but would not normally be expected in movie reviews.
* HarsherInHindsight: In “Nostalgia For The Nostalgia Critic”, released for free in February 2015 but filmed in late 2012 for a Critic tribute, there's a couple of awkward moments, like when Doug says this would be the last DVD thing he ever wanted to do with Critic, that he made bad financial choices when he was younger (so didn't want people knowing he was a BasementDweller) or going between fatigue from working or feeling guilt for sleeping when he could have been working.
* HilariousInHindsight: In the "Sibling Rivalry" review of ''Disney/{{Frozen}}'', Rob describes Frozen as "X-Men in [[Ride/DisneyThemeParks Epcot]]'s Norway". Now Disney has announced that a ''Frozen'' ride is going into Epcot's Norway pavilion.
** In the ''Paranormal Activity III'' review, Doug very jokingly calls the WomenAreWiser trope offensive to men and giggle-wonders if he's a “meninist”. A few years later in the 2015 Ghostbusters news talk, he brings that up as an actual thing (as the term has replaced MRA it seems) and clearly finds the idea of males being oppressed for being male hilarious.
* HePannedItNowHeSucks: Bennett seems to have attracted a bit of the old nerdrage for insulting ''Series/DoctorWho''.
** Neither Doug/Jason/Jori's ''WesternAnimation/AdventureTime'' vlogs of “A Glitch Is A Glitch” and “Lemonhope” were popular, as they were rude to the creator in the first one, and missed the RealityEnsues point of the second. For Jason alone, he doesn't like a lot of mainstream movies (especially Disney) and gets a lot of hate for it, sometimes even from Doug when he forgets his anti OpinionMyopia stance for a moment.
* HoYay: So often it needs its own ever-growing page [[HoYay/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses here.]]
* HypocriticalFandom: There's an irritating tendency amongst mostly female fans to call the first "Spooning With Spoony" sick and twisted, but love the following episodes for their HoYay and shirtless guys.
** [[https://twitter.com/FB_BMB/status/362363768157638656 Film Brain]] has commented on the paradox of the fans wanting more original material, but never supporting it.
*** Also ends up actually hurting the site, [[http://lindsayetumbls.tumblr.com/post/81104186736/do-you-agree-with-kyles-idea-that-tgwtg-is-a-dying as you can't change when your fans refuse to let you.]]
** They complain about adverts and even DVD features are uploaded on youtube, but when Doug does daily vlogs because he's hurting for a money, he's “a cash-grabbing whore”.
** Diamanda has [[https://twitter.com/Diamandahagan/status/497046242913157120 pointed out]] that with the arrival of Rantasmo, people act like she (a lesbian) [[https://twitter.com/Diamandahagan/status/497046987716698112 doesn't exist]] on the site, and there's no homophobic comments on his Kinsey Scale video while Lesbian Talk is always swimming in them.
** They trashed Lindsay for Chick's storyline-abuse of Nella so badly that she had to do a “Thanks For The Feedback” explaining that Nella had actually wrote a lot of that herself, and yet Critic's abuse of Rachel, Malcolm and Tamara (when in WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee he says he didn't want to hurt anyone else) gets cheered on to the point where he has to point out that you're meant to be rooting for them, not him.
* InternetBackdraft: A joke by Linkara in the ''{{Superman}} IV: The Quest for Peace'' review with the Nostalgia Critic got him a lot of heat because he simply mentioned Israel. This led to tons of hatemail accusing him of supporting/hating Israel. He addressed this in the commentary for the video, in which he reminded the readers that he never said anything about Israel except that they probably wouldn't be happy about a guy stealing their nukes, where the film shows everyone on earth unanimously cheering that Superman is going to take away everyone's nukes.
** For Doug's vlogs, the names in Avatar/Korra and the Holly Jolly Secrets reveal in Adventure Time caused big blow-ups that just won't die:
*** '''Avatar''': Despite Doug calling himself out on it, non-white individuals uncomfortable with his difficulty to remember pretty simple names and places are met with (usually white) others stonewalling them with racist remarks and giving the "Doug is braindead so it's not his fault" excuse. Then Rob came in, was openly happy to get the names wrong "because it's a fictional universe" and he liked pissing fandom off, and it just kept going.
*** '''Adventure Time''': While he was getting SuperOCD about the glasses in "Holly Jolly Secrets 2" (which Jason lampshaded), him just thinking that Ice King's backstory was so tragic it was funny got him a ridiculous amount of people calling him every word for "stupid" that you could think of. Plus it was slightly hypocritical, as his deepifying "The New Frontier" into a debate about suicide being wrong or not was just ignored, it was going against what fandom thought was sad that got him hate.
** 12th of January 2015 - Lupa gets fired and Pheolus quits in protest. It's later established that she was fired for [[http://obscuruslupa.tumblr.com/post/108008749157/bye-ca a ridiculously petty reason.]] Cue her, Phelan, Holly Brown, LordKat and Spoony leading a Backdraft.
** The art contest announced at the end of Critic's "Ewoks cartoon" editorial (where the winner gets exposure and 100 dollars for Drew Struzan style art) got a lot of [[http://vigaishere.tumblr.com/post/118621152192/whats-all-this-about-sass-and-a-contest-i-feel heat]] for sounding exploitative. At the end of the ''Fantastic Four'' review, Doug had another post-credits stinger where he said that while when he was an illustrator he would have been fine with 100 dollars, he "found out" that things are harder and they're tripling the prize money.
* ItsPopularNowItSucks: There are some people who don't watch the Critic, Linkara or Spoony for the sole reason of their "big three" FanNickname. Chick will also occasionally be included as something you can't watch "because she has too many fans already", but [[DoubleStandard that's usually said by other women]].
* JustHereForGodzilla: Post-WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee, the VocalMinority of Critic fandom took this to mean-spirited levels, threatening to leave the site after the movie but instead hanging around to not only make Doug's life hard, but to fill the other producer comment sections with hate for not being Critic. Linkara brought Douchey out in one of his fuck-ups to address this, [[https://31.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_maexo0NJYe1rpewcs.png Kyle was polite about it]], and if you watch Doug con interviews in that time period, you can see him getting [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZyzzujKii0 progressively]] snappier when the issue is brought up.
* MemeticBadass: Santa Christ! [[EarWorm He fights monsters for fun and hangs out with Mr.T]] and even if you are able to kill him, he will raise again in the third day, in fullfilment of the awesomeness!
* MemeticSexGod: The majority of them, to the point where Doug has joked that to get on the site you need to be great at blowjobs.
* MisaimedFandom: The audience at large just doesn't seem to get the intentionally pathetic characters screaming at movies aren't something to emulate. Doug (with the entirety of WebVideo/DemoReel, the "When Is A Movie Just A Movie" editorial and [[http://blip.tv/nostalgiacritic/adventure-time-vlogs-the-ice-king-s-glasses-issue-6741587 "The Ice King's Glasses"]]) and Kyle (with videos like ''{{Melancholia}}'' and ''VaseDeNoces'') have gone even further trying to get this into heads, but comments of "yeah this raped my childhood too" (or defensive "you're offending me by trying to AppealToWorseProblems!" in regards to Doug/Kyle) still prevail. If anything, characters like Spoony, Critic, Chick and Todd would have been in jail, in mental homes or at least have a few restraining orders by now.
* {{Misblamed}}: Aside from Scarlett, Holly Brown and especially Lupa being treated like scapegoats for the situation (until [[http://spoonyexperiment.com/2012/09/15/to-boldly-flee-part-1-spoony-commentary/ Spoony himself]] [[http://www.twitlonger.com/show/i6dop4 stated]] that [[HateDumb she did not]] [[MisBlamed get him fired]]), Doug also got a fair amount of abuse for Spoony being let go. This is despite the fact that he has nothing to do with the management of the site (that's all Holly, Rob and Mike, he's just another entertainer) and was actually on his honeymoon when the shit went down.
** Following the scandal of Obscurus Lupa getting laid off and the site's behind-the-scenes issues, Doug may be considered this as he's been known to hardly make any business decisions regarding the site anymore. Much of the issues can be attributed to the CEO of the company, and various producers have said Doug's problem is that he knows what happens but has no power/will to make it better.
* NightmareFuel:
** Anything to do with Sage's "Masterpiece Fanfic Theater's" more sexual episodes.
** Yardoz from Ask That Guy With the Glasses Episode 61. Dear ''God.''
* PortmanteauCoupleName: Despite the rampant amount of shipping in the fandom, there are relatively few of these. A few that do seem to stick, however, are Spoonkara ([[WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment Spoony]] / [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Linkara]]), Padd (PawDugan[=/=]ToddInTheShadows) and Topa (ToddInTheShadows[=/=][[ObscurusLupaPresents Lupa]]). Inskara ([[WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment Dr. Insano]] / [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Linkara]]) is also quite popular.
** IdiosyncraticShipNaming: The Head!OT3 (ToddInTheShadows[=/=]PawDugan[=/=]PushingUpRoses), so named because of the ''Film/{{Head}}'' review the three did together.
* ProtectionFromEditors: It's easy to argue that many of the critics get this on their pages, especially the ones aware of the pages.
* OneOfUs: Several of the reviewers mention TVTropes or a trope title while reviewing, including [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Linkara]], WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick, Y Ruler of Time, [[WebVideo/BadMovieBeatdown Film Brain]], Dena, [[WebVideo/TheSpoonyExperiment SpoonyOne]], Doug and Rob Walker.
* RescuedFromTheScrappyHeap: Film Brain and Phelous are contributors whose first few reviews weren't too well liked, but have long since come into their own.
* RonTheDeathEater: WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick, [[WebVideo/AtopTheFourthWall Linkara]] (when he's not being a perfect hero), WebVideo/{{Phelous}} and The Other Guy will usually get this from the fanfic fandom, although for EvilIsSexy reasons rather than hate.
* SeasonalRot: Quite a few detractors feel that the site generally dropped in quality after 2014- no anniversary celebrations, numerous producers saying controversial things or getting caught in controversies and the site's business management coming out into the forefront (Less so than 2015, however) with some insane policies like not allowing for Patreon advertisements for a while. As well as that, the above mentioned new site stirred up more backlash.
* SoBadItsGood: ''Melvin, Brother of the Joker''.
* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: Doug has always tried to get people to see how there's far bigger issues in life than just different opinions, but he really goes all out in ''The Ice King's Glasses Issue'':
-->'''Doug''': I'm not going to look at Jason like he's the world's biggest a-hole for his opinion, I'm going to look at him like he's the world's biggest a-hole for other reasons. I wish you would do the same for me. If you're not going to like me, not like me for reasons to not like a person, don't not like me because I have a different opinion on a TV show.
* TheScrappy: Various personalities have received quite a bit of scorn from the fanbase for various reasons.
** The Last Angry Geek is often accused of ripping off Linkara, even though he's been reviewing comics for the site longer in text format.
** [=LordKat=] managed to avoid any major criticism until he admitted to using emulators and save states when recording game footage. The fans that criticize him tend to forget that ''Until We Win'' is supposed to be a guide to beating a game and is more meant for how the viewers are supposed to play than [=LordKat=] himself.
** [[WebVideo/TheAmazingAtheist The Distressed Watcher]] gets this from those that don't like his tendency to attempt to [[CrossesTheLineTwice cross the line as many times as possible.]] Indeed, there was an unsuccessful petition to have him ''removed from the site''. According to [[WebVideo/BadMovieBeatdown Film Brain]], he's a bit of a loner compared to the otherwise tight-knit and friendly TGWTG reviewers, and rarely talks to them. He admits that once Mike Ellis left the site's management team it became apparent that he'd been DW's only real supporter on the site.
** [[{{Familiar Faces}} Chad Rocco]] seems to becoming this for some fans, mainly due to his attitude towards [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic bronies]], especially jarring since he ''was once a fan'', to the point where [[{{Hypocrite}} he does some MLP animations for Doug in his reviews despite his opinions of the show]]. Even for those who aren't bronies or let alone like the show feel he goes too far with his insults and critiques towards the show, the fans, and even the crew (especially Meghan Mccarthy who he frequently blames for the show's 'change in quality'). His show as a result has suffered some backlash due to his nit-picky attitude towards the [[NeverLiveItDown overshadowing it]], worse at the fact he ''barely'' [[ScheduleSlip updates it]].
* TearJerker: [[TearJerker/ThatGuyWithTheGlasses Yes, they have a page]].
* TheyCopiedItSoItSucks: Sage drew quite a few negative comments for his new "Comic Conventions" feature for being in more or less a copy of Atop the Fourth Wall (futon and all) despite Linkara having suggested it to him.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: The ''Despicable Me II'' Sibling Rivalry got a bad reception for a few reasons, like Doug in AlterEgoActing mode again (as a {{jerkass}} no less), Rob being the ButtMonkey, the set being too dark and Doug's black clothes making him blend in with the background, distracting microphones and the boys being so far away from each other that the ''sibling'' closeness felt dropped. Thankfully with the next segment, ''Thor II'', it went back to brotherly-feeling vlogs.
* VindicatedByHistory: Melvin is still not exactly liked, but he was the start of Doug wearing eyeliner just for the sake of it and more importantly the start of him putting more drama into his work, a talent he would definitely fine tune over the years. So he is at least appreciated for that.
* TheWoobie: Melvin, Brother of SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker. Unlike Doug's other woobie characters though, he wasn't OTT enough to be funny as well.
** Lori Prince. StraightMan, older than Doug's other characters, tormented by the Joker and can do a wonderful pouty face.
** [[http://www.lordkat.com/minor-fame-major-stress.html Here]], [=LordKaT=] talks about how his experiences on the live stream have really made him feel depressed. Y'just wanna hug him.
