- Hollywood Pudgy: Hinaji is said to have been fat while he was in junior high. The little we see of him in flashbacks shows him wearing baggier, less-flattering clothes, but his overall body type and face barely even look that different.
- Ho Yay: Toyama is very protective of Noto, and even asks Noto to marry him and kisses him in Chapter 8.
- Hinaji had a crush on Noto.
- The other students at Seiryou see this between Iyuta Nibutani and Fujiyuki Hamamatsu, even though they aren't really interested in each other that way (especially Hamamatsu).
