* AnticlimaxBoss: As in the first ''Compact'', both the normal final boss and TrueFinalBoss of ''Galaxy Showdown'' can be obliterated in three or less attacks. The final bosses carry a barrier and shield respectively this time around to make things slightly more interesting, at least.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome:
** Ever wondered where "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmdhnJbXzfc Steel Beowulf]]" and "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMI2BE2Bqxk Hakugin no Datenshi]]" (localized as "Fallen White Knight") came from?
** The opening theme for ''Anime/NinjaSenshiTobikage'' "Love Survivor" was already awesome, but the ''Impact'' version is [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULai8lcQ5iM undeniably one of the best battle themes in the entire franchise]].
* FetishFuelStationAttendant: GOOD GOD, '''''Excellen Browning'''''. As if teasing allies with some visual eye-candy a la a PlayboyBunny suit isn't enough, this alone from the end credits of [[http://i54.tinypic.com/vcwh7o.jpg Episode 19]] (''slightly {{NSFW}}'') for ''The Inspectors'' AnimatedAdaptation invokes TentacleRope, ClothingDamage and ScrewYourself, ALL without the fandom doing it, but the development staff for the anime, instead.
* ItsHardSoItSucks: Most complaints about ''Compact 2'' and ''Impact'' can be broken down to "it's hard", "it's slow", and in the case of ''Compact 2'', [[SeinfeldIsUnfunny "it's old-school [=SRW=]"]]. ''Compact 2'' (especially ''Cosmoquake'') is said to be lacking in viable units, while ''Impact'' has the most difficult-to-earn "Skill Points" in the entire franchise.
* {{Moe}}: Alfimi was already adorable, but ''The Inspectors'' cranks it UpToEleven.
** CreepyChild: Depending on who you ask, the anime might extend to this, too.
* NightmareFuel: The Persoenlichkeit's strongest attack involves her familiars pinning down its target. Alfimi gets up close and personal, unsheathes the Lichkeit's katana and stabs the living shit out of it. Skewering motions make the sight of the attack painful, until you realize TimeStandsStill during the attack, meaning the target isn't even feeling anything until ''afterwards''.
* {{OT3}}: You think Kyosuke will just settle for Excellen and not both her ''and'' a loli clone? Fanworks say you're wrong.
** [[spoiler:Try "[=OT4=]"...of sorts: before her return in ''[[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration Super Robot Wars Original Generation Gaiden]]'', there existed a LOT of fanart featuring the "Nanbu family" and their very, very cute twin daughters]]. Additionally, {{Fanon}} [[http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/186538/ took this and]] [[http://danbooru.donmai.us/data/3742c7bd83dcc6747a2fe083ecd17ab9.jpg ran with it]].
* ThatOneLevel: The final scenario of ''Cosmoquake'' "Into the Quaking Cosmos" - players are faced against more than a dozen [[Anime/{{Dancougar}} Dirad Battle Mecha]] {{Mook}}s with 18000 HP and 30% HitPoint Regeneration[[note]]To put this into perspective, a well-upgraded attack might only deal roughly 3000-4000 damage without the use of "Spirit Commands"[[/note]]. After destroying eight of those, a large number of [[EliteMook Einst Gemuet]] appear, including a level 60 Einst Regisseur, nearly ''twice'' the level of all enemies on the map. If that isn't enough, ''Anime/MachineRobo'' enemies pop up when players end their fifth turn. Topping it off is a map that is rather huge with a 20-turn limit, resulting in a ''very'' uphill battle if players didn't properly prepare before reaching this scenario. Players can LevelGrind by using the "game over trick", but doing so will likely put the TrueFinalBoss out of reach.
** ''Galaxy Showdown'' gives us the mother of all indoor-based [=SRW=] scenarios with the ''Machine Robo'' finale. The team sortied out is [[RequiredPartyMember pre-determined]] and consists of the supporting cast of ''Machine Robo'' alongside Excellen, the [[Anime/AuraBattlerDunbine Billbine]], [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamThe08thMSTeam Gundam Ez-8]], [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamZZ ZZ Gundam]], [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamF91 Gundam F91]], Anime/{{Raideen}}, [[Anime/GetterRobo Getter Dragon]], Anime/MazingerZ, and Anime/{{Daitarn 3}}. Unless players somehow managed to keep all of those units up to date (unlikely, given the game's incredibly strict ArbitraryHeadcountLimit), they're in for a slow, painful corridor stage. Fortunately, [[Anime/MachineRobo Rom Stol]] [[BigDamnHeroes shows up mid-way through to help out]].
* WhatAnIdiot: Gai Daigoji in the first ''Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico'' mission of ''Impact''.
** '''You'd expect''': For Gai to stay close to the ''Nadesico'', as [[Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico Aestivalis]] units guzzle energy and the battleship in question can quickly recharge it.
** '''Instead''': Being [[HotBlooded who he is]], Gai charges headlong towards the [[Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico Jovian Lizards]] and burns all his Aestivalis' energy just getting there, therefore [[OhCrap becoming unable to move]], thus requiring [[Anime/MartianSuccessorNadesico Akito Tenkawa]], in his own Aestivalis, and eventually the [[Anime/{{Dancougar}} Gundor]] team to bail him out.
