• Retroactive Recognition:
  • Radue later became Agent Mulder's first informant.
  • Rashella would later go on to be Mary Alice Young in Desperate Housewives and the ill-fated spaceship captain in Starship Troopers.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • It's actually kind of shocking to think that both this episode and the widely-liked film Children of Men started out with what is essentially the same plot point, but ended up as polar opposites in execution.
  • Given Wesley's oft-touted Teen Genius intellect and the fact that's he's given access to the Aldean supercomputer, it's odd that he never attempts to disable the planetary shield/cloak from within (even if he failed, he could have at least tried). It's an unusual case where "Wesley saves the day" actually would have made some amount of sense yet the most he does is lead a hunger strike.
