• Hilarious in Hindsight: A beautiful woman wants to touch Sulu, all while saying she's for him. Sulu responds by drawing a phaser on her. Oh my! Later, he does comment that she's beautiful. But, maybe he just wants to know where she got those fabulous bell bottoms.
• Values Dissonance: When warning Losira not to come any closer (concluding quite correctly that she killed D'Amato), Sulu points his phaser at her while adding "I don't want to have to kill a woman!" This sounds sexist on many modern levels but was rather typical of The '60s when television was still ruled by Westerns. After all, one of the codes of the West is to "Never shoot a woman, no matter what".
