• Fridge Logic: One problem fans have with the fan fic is why Red doesn't bother to carry around a pen and a notebook so he can communicate with people easier.
• The Scrappy: Mia is more disliked than hated by the reviewers, mostly because fans feel she doesn't really contribute anything to the story.
• Tear Jerker: Any time Red is misunderstood or degraded for his inability to talk, especially when Mr. Fuji believes Team Rocket's lies about him abusing his Pokemon, his and Green's reactions to Raticate's death, Red's reaction to learning he's Giovanni's son, and when Red is worried sick about Pikachu, who suddenly runs away in Victory Road. It doesn't help that in Victory Road, a rude female trainer claims that Pikachu ran away because he used sign language.
