* SalvagedStory: Sonic and Amy's dynamic going from an obsessive StalkerWithACrush he's terrified of to a member of his TrueCompanions who happens to have a ([[EveryoneCanSeeIt very poorly hidden]]) crush on him is generally agreed to both be more tolerable than the 2000's era videogames and also a lot funnier.

* SalvagedStory:
** One of the complaints against ''Shattered Crystal'' was the fact that Sticks replaced Amy as the fourth playable character. ''Fire & Ice'' rectifies this by having both Amy ''and'' Sticks playable.
** Many have assumed delaying ''Fire & Ice'' itself was an effort to give the game more development time to ensure it doesn't suffer the same fate as its predecessors. Although it got better reviews than Shattered Crystal, few reviewers rated it any higher than SoOkayItsAverage.

** Among the original cast, Zooey, Tails's LoveInterest, doesn't really have much in the way of a character or focus. At least the show doesn't forget her, as episodes made after "Tails's Crush" remember to point out their relationship from time to time, though only offhandedly in-passing.

** For a character so heavily touted as OriginalGeneration, Sticks does next to nothing in almost every episode. If she's lucky she gets a few lines ranting about people getting mind-controlled, and if she isn't, expect her to be there to simply fill out group shots.
** Among the original cast, people comment Zooey, Tails's LoveInterest, doesn't really have much in the way of a character or focus. At least the show doesn't forget her, as episodes made after "Tails's Crush" remember to point out their relationship from time to time.

* EvilIsSexy: Some of the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom have taken a liking to [[{{Jerkass}} Boom's version of]] [[AdaptationalVillainy Shadow]], and it's [[EvilIsCool not that hard to see why,]] especially considering his already well-established fans.

* WTHCastingAgency: In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Shadow was voiced in his first appearance by Carlos Seidl, who, while a good voice actor, has a voice that clearly [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRz2fGl8WgY does not fit the character]]. Luckily, Reginaldo Primo (Shadow's Brazilian voice in Sonic X) was brought back to voice the character when he came back in Season 2.

** Team Cybonic had potential to be the TheCavalry for the main team if they ever needed help, or maybe become [[FriendlyRival friendly rivals]]. Instead, they only get one other appearance outside their debut, and spend most of that appearance as Eggman's minions.

** Beth the Shrew also qualifies.

* GermansLoveDavidHasselhoff: The show has a strong international audience and airs in over 90 countries worldwide. However, it should be noted that the show's lower popularity in America is mostly due to Creator/CartoonNetwork [[ScrewedByTheNetwork throwing it under the bus with lazy advertising and poor time slots]], and the show being absolutely aggressively ''Despised'' by, ironically, Russian Sonic fans as mentioned above.
