YMMV / Scratches

  • Critical Research Failure: When Michael Arthate keeps calling the bank, the employee on the other hand eventually answers the phone with the words that he will call the police if Michael keeps calling. Given the time setting of the game, the employee's phone would not have any Caller ID, making it impossible for him to know that it's Michael calling, without even saying anything.
    • One newspaper article talks about how a large amount of money was stolen, with the currency listed as Euros. The Euro currency was not established until 1999, a good 20 years after this game takes place. There's also the fact that Britain never took on the Euro currency and has retained using Pounds, making this a double-whopper of a mistake.
  • Paranoia Fuel: Despite the fact that the graphics almost never change within the 3 days, the ominous soundtrack can still make you think something's going to happen sooner or later, especially at night.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: In the Last Visit, Robin does not look nearly as scary as he did at the end of the main game. Although his voice is just as disturbing.
  • The Woobie: Robin, considering his backstory. Born with hideous malformations, he was locked away in the manor and eventually killed his mother. Still locked away, he gets regular shippings of meat into his hideyhole and trying to tunnel himself a way to freedom. All because he has looks weird, to no fault of his own - his mother kept taking a drug that caused the malformations.
