  • Covered Up:
    • Cascada is often the attributed artist to "Truly Madly Deeply" amongst the younger generation.
    • Country singer Daryle Singletary covered "I Knew I Loved You" on his 2000 album Now and Again.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Affirmation has lots of love ballads, but these were written by Darren Hayes as his first marriage was breaking down and he was trying to sort out his feelings towards his then-wife and starting on his journey to accepting his sexuality.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Two lines from the song Affirmation ("I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair/I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires") can be interpreted as this (or Harsher in Hindsight) following the 2008-2009 global economic crisis and the Occupy movement.
  • Popular with Furries: "The Animal Song" is treated as an anthem by furries for obvious reasons.
  • Refrain from Assuming: "The Animal Song", is not called "I Want to Live".
  • Signature Song: "Truly Madly Deeply", "To the Moon and Back" or "I Knew I Loved You", although these days it's more likely to be "I Want You" thanks to the Colbert Bump it got from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.
  • Too Good to Last: Only two studio albums and spanning 15 singles in their six years together, still considered one of the biggest Aussie bands of the late 90s, with their Self-Titled Album going 12x Platinum in Australia and 7x Platinum in the US, and Affirmation doing a respectable 8x Plat/3x Plat as well.
