YMMV: Robotboy

  • Acceptable Religious Targets: Gus's Amish parents. They make statues out of manure, for God's sake and speak all the time in Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe.
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: "The Return of Robotgirl" and "The Old Switcharobot" imply, if just a little bit, that Protoboy is a "Well Done, Son!" Guy in regards to Moshimo, in his own twisted way.
  • Broken Base: It is either a cute and charming show that was a bright spot during Cartoon Network's Dork Age of mediocre shows and a disastrous shift in programmingnote , or a boring and badly-made rip-off of My Life as a Teenage Robot.
  • Cargo Ship: The IT teacher from "Tween for a Day" seems way too attached to her work.
  • Ear Worm: "OH! I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves..."
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Robotgirl. She's only in two episodes, but gets a lot of fan art and YouTube videos.
    • Protoboy could count too.
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: This show seems to have a small but impressive cult following in Japan, considering it's "Blue Japanese-American-themed" titular Robot character rarity.
    • You can find the actual Region 2 French-Language DVD sets (Especially Volume 1) only on Ebay from France or Ebay France.
    • This show still airs in The United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and Germany in the present time.
    • This show has a surprisingly high number of fans in North America and Asia, which begs the question why this show is no longer shown there after 2008.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: "The Sleepover" had a Cyber Cyclops robot with a British accent. Sound familiar?
    • Robotboy and Robotgirl's Activated mode unintentionally reminds some Anime fans of Cure Marine and Cure Blossom, respectively from Heartcatch Precure!
  • Misblamed: A couple of Robot Jones fans believed that this show caused Robot Jones to be cancelled.
  • Moe: Robotgirl is so adorable she will make your teeth fall out.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Kamikazi ordering a brainwashed Robotboy to kill Tommy in "Crying Time".
  • Robo Ship: Protoboy is revealed to have a wife in "The Revenge of Protoboy".
  • Tear Jerker: Robotboy's Disney Death in "The Tune Up".
    • Including the sad fact that this show still airs in The United Kingdom, Eastern Europe, and Germany in the present time. However, this show is no longer shown in North America or Asian Countries after 2008.
  • The Scrappy: Gus is disliked by a lot of fans because he's mostly just there to be gross and obnoxious and he'll often cause the conflict of the episode and/or make it worse.
  • Toy Ship: Robotboy/Robotgirl, almost literally. Ditto Lola/Tommy and Bambi/Kurt.
  • The Woobie: Robotboy.
    • Robotgirl, especially in "The Return of Robotgirl" where she had Amnesia or Memory loss.
    • In a sense, Constantine. Sure, he is a bad guy, but Kamikazi mistreats him very badly, and on some occasions he is shown to be nicer than his boss, such as "Teasebots". Also, in "Kamispazi!" it's implied that he grew up at an orphanage. If that doesn't make you want to hug him, nothing will.
    • Tommy too, especially in "I Want That Toy" and "Crying Time".
  • They Copied It, So It Sucks: A lot of viewers accused it for being a rip-off of My Life as a Teenage Robot.
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks: Many fans are disappointed that in "The Return of Robotgirl", Robotgirl became a sad, indecisive crybaby because of her MEMORY LOSS or just Amnesia.
