Older Than They Think: The television-and-remote segment from episode 4 (published in 2003) is extremely reminiscent of 1996 game Stay Tooned!.
They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Often accused of ripping off Happy Tree Friends, however, Word of God says that it was completely unintentional and that he hadn't even heard of Happy Tree Friends until people started saying that he copied them. It might have been because Bunny reminded people of Cuddles (he's yellow and always died in the earlier episodes).
Values Dissonance: Even though it's deliberate, the title of the series contains an uncensored ableist slur. When it was released in 2003, it was (mostly) taken as a funny joke. Nowadays, there is no way in hell they'd get away with using that word in the title.
