- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The fight against the Flareon cosplay in GreenPark Woods. Morshu's response is a Flat "What". It also has no connection to the overall plot and is never mentioned again.
- Complete Monster: S O U L invades the game world and gives the game characters self-awareness specifically to torment them. Driving Old Guy the King to madness, S O U L uses him to kill all the world's dragons and an innocent Ogre to undo its seal, kidnaps Cain's infant daughter, and uses the Xenospire's guardian to sacrifice people to itself. Upon being unsealed, S O U L destroys Town, wiping out everyone within, then forces HERO to kill his best friend, Kawaii Desu Girl, before making him kill himself. It then possesses the Ogre's body and creates a mansion as a trap for several characters to torment and possess them. Finally, S O U L uses The King to attempt to kill Morshu and turn him into another vessel.
- Fan Nickname: A high amount of characters' names were determined after the fact by the fans, and then Ascended Fanon happened. Examples include Kawaii Girl/GIRL, Desu Girl, Shittyghost, and Old Guy The King.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: kawaii desu girl is apparently popular enough to have gotten a Fan Prequel about her and another about her grandfather.
- Shittyghost was pretty popular early on, but later s/he drifted out of appearances.
- It Makes Sense in Context: As the creator puts it:what the fuck is quest fantasylike how do i describe itits… its a series of games that waver between being intentionally bad rpgs and overly-complexly plotted visual novels about a bunch of people trying to stop a giygas expy from giving them good grammarwhat did i makewhat the fuck did i make
- Player Punch: In the original game, the player seems to be playing a hero who is ordered by the king to slay an Ogre who is causing trouble around Town. Then you actually kill the Ogre... after which it turns out that you murdered an innocent being at the behest of a corrupt monarch, and doing so unleashed a Sealed Evil in a Can who possessed you into killing the cute girl next door. The entity then taunts you about this.
