It's worth noting that most economic theories consider some amount of inflation to be healthy (2% per year is a common number), and 100 years is actually a long time for that to compound.

* AesopAmnesia: In the ''Coldest Equations'' arc, a major point is that it's not right to accept a no-win premise in a "needs of the many versus needs of the few" situation and that the right thing to do is keep fighting to try and find a way, and that if a person was placed into a tragic situation, the people responsible for putting them there have responsibility. In the ''very next'' story arc regarding Kallifrax, it's stated that you have to accept that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, the wise thing to do is accept there are some things you can't change so there's no point fighting it, and if someone is placed in a tragic situation it's ''their'' fault and the person who put them in that situation shares none of the responsibility. The author does address the [[http://www.rhjunior.com/quentyn-quinn-space-ranger-12/ contradiction]]: With Kallifrax, Quinn looked over every option he had and picked the best option. The pilot seemingly gave up at the first hint of trouble.
-->'''Author:''' Quinn didn't condemn the shuttle pilot in TCE for picking a poor solution, he condemned him for seemingly NOT TRYING AT ALL.

This is a Trivia trope.

* WhatMightHaveBeen: The Federation arc was originally going to be a good deal longer, but the readers' complaints regarding some of the AuthorTract tendencies led to a shortening of the story. Thus, the readers never got to see Babbage (Data) confronted about his creator's obvious shortcomings in the software and design departments, nor Lothario (Riker) getting a brief analysis of his sexual mores. (This was well after Riker had sex with a neuter...) To say nothing of the far-too-familiar-to-Trekkies argument regarding why Geordi needs a VISOR. Ironically, some readers believe they would have complained far less if the AuthorTract had eventually moved on to these potentially-more-entertaining scenarios.

** The Author was very deliberate in making the parody shallow. His very intent was to incense the defenders of WH40k to get past their defenses. [[ShownTheirWork He never mocks ANYTHING while having only a passing knowledge of it]], [[BatmanGambit and the fans that got upset at the portrayal fell right into his trap for going out of their way to defend such a horrible setting and prove him right]]. One verified fan of 40k [[ActuallyPrettyFunny was actually amused]], however, having no hard feelings towards the author and acknowledging the point the author was trying to make, making the ones that got mad at R.H. Junior's mockery look even more [[FanDumb fanatical and unreasonable]], since one of their own actually could take the joke.
