YMMV / Quai d'Orsay

  • Colbert Bump: Being caricatured in this comic has made De Villepin grow in popularity in Francenote , and has the press gushing about his "fascinatingly hammynote  megalomania"
  • Crowning Moment of Awesome: see In Harm's Way. Also, upcoming in the second tome, totally not de Villepin's "impassioned speech" against the War on Lousdem at the UN Security Council. Obviously also one for Vladimir, the speechwriter.
    • Crowning Moment of Awesome: In the movie, Arthur's girlfriend (a school teacher) asks him if he can talk to his boss about the family of one of her students that is going to be expelled, Arthur tries to do so, but, due to a lack of time, the minister tell him to just "put the USB in my pocket, i'll see it later" and seems to forget about it. Later, Arthur's girlfriend calls him to thank him for having talk to his boss about it, leaving him dumbfounded bfore she explains the child's family has been granted permission to stay in France.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: Well the comic doesn't really seem to take sides, except perhaps in a "War Is Bad" overall attitude from the characters, but that's what you'd expect from people whose job is Diplomacy.
  • Write What You Know: The work is basically a fictionalized account of the writer's experience as a speechwriter for De Villepin.
