YMMV: Pretty Cure Perfume Preppy

  • Base Breaker: As of recently, the story itself has become this. Some people enjoy it while others feel it's too shoddily written and full of unnecessary elements like the grimdark to really work as a Pretty Cure fan series, which makes people wonder why it's gotten so famous in the first place.
  • Broken Base: The story suddenly adopting grimdark elements like bloody murder and cannibalism. Some people like them, but others felt they were really unnecessary and ruined the story for them. The same goes for the way Ashley's redemption arc was handled. Some thought it was fine but others thought it came too out of the left field, feeling fake or superficial.
  • Crowning Moment of Awesome (Any time Ashley is involved. Cures Vanilla and Jasmine's power-up attacks deserve a special mention as well.)
  • Crowning Moment of Funny
    • Episodes 11 and 18 in their entirety.
    • The second half of the second eyecatch, with Pittan cosplaying as Cure Rosa.
    • Pittan trying to chat up a plush bird he nicknamed "Lala-chan" in episode 27.
  • Crowning Moment of Heartwarming (The entirety of episode 10, as well as the Hanae/Ikuko Ship Tease during episode 36.)
  • Deader Than Disco: When it was first written, it was universally acclaimed. But its fans have matured since then, and they've become more aware of the fan fic's glaring flaws, feeling that the cannibalism, dark elements, and boob jokes to be out of place in a fan series for a show aimed at little girls. Even the author herself admits, and agrees, that the fan series hasn't aged well and plans to rewrite it completely.
  • Evil Is Sexy (Komorah)
  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff (Apparently, the fic is famous around France. Not surprising, given that's where The Heroine and her family are from.)
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In episode 32, a Spaniard Pretty Cure explains that there are other Pretty Cure teams around the world. A few years later, that would become canon.
  • Moral Event Horizon (Crossed by Raflesina with her brainwashing and later attempted assassination of Ashley.)
  • Nightmare Fuel (Ashley walks in carrying a recently severed head in episode 47. Its description is... horrific.)
  • Squick: Ashley going on a murder spree? Sure, whatever, Darker and Edgier. Ashley then eating her victims? Okay, that's just disgusting.
  • Toy Ship (Taisuke and Caitlin)
