- Hilarious in Hindsight: An egg with a face that turns into a legendary being. The One True Morty is basically Nebby!note
- No Problem with Licensed Games: Even ignoring the Rick and Morty branding, it's still both a funny Deconstruction of the Mons genre and a solid Mons title in its own right.
- Sidetracked By The Golden Saucer: There is a crafting minigame where Rick can make items for battle, as well as quest items to give to various NPC's. Some actually find this part of the game more interesting than the battling aspect, although there's a bit of Guide Dang It! involved with the crafting recipes.
- Ugly Cute:
- Some of the more freaky Mortys can count, given Morty himself is considered by many fans to be the show's example of Moe.
- Let's face it: the Ricks in pocket mode are adorable.
- What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: While there's actually no explicit content in the game itself beyond some vague references to unpleasant things from the show and the occasional Black Comedy Burst, and it's rated E for Everyone on all platforms except the iOS App Store, one might wonder what in the hell prompted Adult Swim to make a child-friendly Pokémon riff based on the very, very adult Rick and Morty.
