- Adaptation Displacement: The original manga, Persia Ga Suki by Takako Aonuma, is so obscure it doesn't even have a Japanese Wikipedia page. Add in the large amounts of Adaptation Deviation the anime adds, and the manga has practically been forgotten by time.
- Awesome Music: The first opening theme song Tripper in A Strange Country, sung by Maiko Okamoto. It goes from light to passionate at times, and shows off her amazing vocal range. The backing vocals also have a jazzy-like vibe to them. Listen here.
- Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Persia, the Magic Fairy was a smash hit in Japan, but has a small fanbase in the West (particularly Italy, because it was dubbed there as Evelyn e la magia di un sogno d'amore), and is known in the US for being a quirky Magical Girl work.
- Quirky Work: The anime is about an African-raised little Wild Child who spends her days playing with animals while wearing a loincloth being summoned into being a Magical Girl, with the threat of her male friends being turned into girls if she doesn't.
- The manga was much Darker and Edgier and lacked Magical Girl elements, so why Studio Pierrot retooled into a children's cartoon is anyone's guess.
- Values Dissonance: The way Africa is depicted in the anime. Apparently, "Africans" wear barely any clothing, are all close to animals and live as cavemen.
