YMMV / PerkyGoth14

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Atticus can be seen as overly perfect by some people due to his abilities and intelligence which can easily solve any problem that comes in his or anyone else's way.
    • Cherry, is she obsessive over her friendship with Atticus because she's a Clingy Jealous Girl or because Atticus was often her Only Friend?
  • Archive Panic: Not even PerkyGoth14 knows where the stories begin and often tells those who ask her.
  • Base-Breaking Character: Lionel Schwartz's inclusion in stories of how he becomes Cherry's new love interest right away. Is he charming, funny, and a fun new member of the team or is he an annoying inclusion in the series that feels unnecessary, especially with how he alters the stories for his own amusement of what PerkyGoth14 has established as canon?
  • Designated Monkey: Cherry when she was younger was often the subject of many misfortunes and situations. She's even aware of it, Atticus seems to also be aware as he sometimes takes her place if it's unlikely she'll come out alive since he's indestructible.
  • Diagnosed by the Audience: Felicity is painfully shy around crowds which prevents her from going to school until she is enrolled into Auradon Prep, she is also much better when she's around people she knows such as her cousins.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Darla from Cats Don't Dance has very popular feedback from fans of the series and even asked to be in many other stories, so much so that her page on the official wiki has over 50 comments.
  • Funny Moments: Sometimes whenever Cherry makes a snarky comment. In-Universe, some of her jokes are seen as lame puns, but sometimes, she can actually be pretty funny when she wants to be. Some of her jokes though are often seen as inside jokes.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Your Mileage May Very, crossing over with Heartwarming in Hindsight, but it can be jarring to see Cherry bonding with her grandmother after believing she was dead all these years when you realize that PerkyGoth14's actual grandmother died when she was almost two-years-old, and even misses her to this very day.
    • In later stories, sometimes when Cathleen is shoehorned in and is forced to learn a lesson about being friends and having fun again rather than wanting to be famous and mooching off of her more successful friend's success and threatens Cherry that someday she'll lose her. Eventually, Cathleen's creator and PerkyGoth14 would no longer be on speaking terms due to the former slowly morphing into a shitty friend.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Cherry and Atticus's friendship is seen as this by many, but a common theme is when they call each other "Brother" and "Sister" when rescuing each other. Cherry gets bashful about it sometimes though, but Atticus does it just because he's a Nice Guy.
  • Jerkass Woobie: While Cherry's not a big jerk like most examples and can actually be a good friend, she has a bit of a rough life with her adventures, social life, and school life. She was also bullied at a very young age by kids who made fun of her for being a loner which eventually led to her becoming friends with Atticus.
  • The Scrappy: The character of Cathleen isn't very well-liked by many die-hard Cherry's Adventures fans, especially when she complains about how Atticus and the others "make her look bad" and she provides a lot of Wangst and that she just wants to be famous and is overpowered. Not to mention sometimes her methods of being victorious feel more like an Ass Pull than well-thought-out accomplishments.
  • Tear Jerker: Anytime Cherry cries whenever it looks like the end for Atticus. Yes, he's fine near the end and everyone lives happily ever after, but it's still quite heart-breaking to see someone who's often stoic like Cherry cry for someone she had known for a good long time who's almost like a brother to her. This is especially played with in The Witch Academy story where Atticus takes Nicole's place to become a stone statue and Cherry is miserable because of it and even lashes out at Sabrina for making it happen with tears in her eyes that she may never be with him ever again.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Cherry can sometimes be seen as this. She had no friends before meeting Atticus and only had her books for company, Drell often uses her as a Cosmic Plaything and doesn't even bat an eye when she gets hurt or humiliated, mostly because he's the reason behind it. She's sometimes seen as crazy whenever danger comes to Atticus, but he was often a brother to her and her Only Friend before their adventures really began, and we even find out in the Secret Life arc that she has an eating disorder which is Played for Drama since Atticus and Mo are often seen together than more with Cherry in the arc.
  • What Could Have Been: There was once going to be a story arc of Cherry dating Drell's nephew until it was scrapped in The Rollercoaster of Friendship and Cherry splits into two people like Atticus in Frozen or Akito in Clifford the Big Red Dog to exist as two different personas. However, Thor and Cherry have still become friends and often play video games together.
  • The Woobie: Almost anyone at one point or another.
