YMMV: Oruchuban Ebichu

  • Bile Fascination: Even people who hate the series can't look away.
  • Crowning Moment of Funny: A lot of candidates here:
    • Ebichu in heat, creeping the hell out of Kaishonachi and humiliating O.L. by dragging a sex toy out and asking her how to use it. O.L. turns into Edvard Munch's The Scream when she sees Ebichu with it.
    • Maa-kun's insane Dream Within A Dream Within A Dream Within A Dream about Ebichu.
    • Ebichu's first transformation into Ebichuman — the visual effects lead us to expect a Transformation Sequence, but she simply declares "Ebichu, transform!" and then goes over to the dresser to put her costume on.
    • The "bad smell" incident. Trying to pinpoint the source of a horrible smell in O.L.'s apartment, Ebichu blurts out a number of embarrassing revelations that get Kaishonachi beaten up (along with her, as usual). The punchline, not to give away too much, is that the bad smell is most definitely not Kaishonachi's fault.
  • EarWorm: The closing theme from Ai no Awa Awa Hour, the anthology series of which Ebichu is a part, tends to get stuck in some viewers' heads; it doesn't help that the lyrics are Word Salad Lyrics even by Japanese standards.
  • Jerkass Woobie: You can't help but feel sorry for O.L. sometimes.
  • Purity Sue: Miss Watanabe, to such an extent that both OL and Ebichu suspect her of being a Stepford Smiler.
    • On a lesser level, the newlyweds next door. They dress in matching outfits, are constantly grinning and sharing any number of stupid lovey-dovey injokes, and (if the sounds coming through the wall are any indication) have a REALLY healthy sex life. When it emerges that they're also devoutly religious, Ebichu and OL start to wonder if they're going to hell for eavesdropping on them.
  • So Bad, It's Good
  • Squick: Makun has a crush on Ebichu. Ebichu is a hamster. Makun is not.
