- Cult Classic: Despite being not being as big or even having an official release outside of Japan, this show definitely has its fans, mainly because of the cute visuals contrasted with extremely vulgar humor, and the many meme-worthy moments within the show.
- Jerkass Woobie: You can't help but feel sorry for O.L. sometimes. Between her work life, her love life, and constantly being Surrounded by Idiots, her life really sucks.

- Maa has a crush on Ebichu. Ebichu is a hamster. Maa is a human.
- Save for Maa-kun, many characters and fans react this way whenever a sexual encounter involving Ebichu shows up.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Don't be fooled by the Crayon Shin-chan-like art style (unless you read the original Shin-chan manga), this show is not Hamtaro. The manga ran in a seinen magazine, and the series' humor frequently revolves around sex jokes and Office Lady's constant abuse of Ebichu.
- The Woobie:
- Ebichu's life is an emotional roller coaster all the way through, which isn't helped by Office Lady and Kaishounachi constantly being annoyed by her all the time.
- When she isn't being a complete bitch, the Office Lady is constantly cheated on by her boyfriend, who she often goes back to despite his abusive behavior. She's also nearing the age where she becomes unmarriageable in the eyes of others and deals with Ebichu's antics on a regular basis.
