- Anti-Climax Boss: Caesar. Despite being the Big Bad of the arc, he was actually the weakest of the three main antagonists. If it weren't for his ability to manipulate oxygen he'd hardly be a threat and any member of the Monster Trio (in addition to Smoker and Law) could have beaten him no sweat.
- The same applies to Monet as well — while she had Tashigi beat easy, Zoro took her down with one slash after breaking her resolve. Had he bothered to put any Haki into the blow she would have been dead.
- The only aversion was Vergo. He turned out to be ripped, and Law got lucky enough to bisect him with his Devil Fruit powers in a clash where Vergo would have savaged him if he hadn't timed it right.
- Arc Fatigue: The stretched out content for the anime is felt when the fighting breaks out within Caesar's base. One episode in particular is so devoid of content that it's quite literally just Sanji, Nami, Franky, and Chopper running across a daycare room.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: In this arc, when Momonsuke asked Luffy to help him transform back into a human when he was stuck in his dragon form, Luffy tells him that he can't as he isn't a Zoan fruit user. Come Wano Country arc (specially Chapter 1044)where it is revealed that Luffy is not only a Zoan user, but a Mythical Zoan user at that!
- They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Smoker and Tashigi got hit hard with The Worf Effect in this arc. Whatever opponent they came across, they were always getting overpowered or beaten up.
