Way back in the early days of Abridged Series, Naruto The Abridged Series was perhaps the second most popular series after Yu-Gi-Oh! The Abridged Series. Some went so far as to say that it was the only other good series aside from YGO, and Little Kuriboh would sometimes guest star and take good natured potshots at it in his own series. Eventually, the creators MasakoX and Vegeta 3986 split up and the series ended. Nowadays, its legacy is almost completely forgotten, and it's overshadowed by several series that have managed to surpass its early popularity. Evidence of this can perhaps be found in how pitifully short its trope page is compared to many other popular web series.
And then there's the infamous delay for the Abridge Movie which took years to make, Vegeta 3986 allowing his girlfriend to be the editor of the movie (with many strange decisions, unfunny jokes, and terrible lip-synch abound), with the real final meta nail in the coffin being that LK's Naruto Abridged Parody of the Abridged Parody becoming even more popular than the original Abridged series. LK making his version of the Naruto movie in a week with phenomenally better lip-synching and jokes didn't help much.

Ensemble Darkhorse: Took advantage of Iruka being one in the anime and got him into a running rivalry with Kakashi.
"Funny Aneurysm" Moment: The creators in-show arguments become bitter when you realize one of the reasons MasakoX quit.
Harsher in Hindsight: All of episode 28. This is where Sasuke (voiced by MasakoX) ends his friendship with Naruto and Sakura (both of whom are voiced by Vegeta) and leaves. Like the "Funny Aneurysm" Moment above, it's very bitter when taking the creators into account.
Mickey Mouse takes on the role of the Big Bad in the Wave Country Arc (as Gatou). In a fanart contest submission, he explains he dressed up as a 60-year-old man since as a cartoon mouse "how the hell [is he] supposed to scare anybody?". Cue a few years later, then...
