• Accidental Innuendo: Princess Celestia's "There is no wrong way to fantasize."
• Broken Base: Starlight Glimmer graduating so soon. Some think it's unearned and adds to complaints about her suffering Character Shilling. Others don't mind as nothing meaningful changed as a result making it harmless.
  • Discord's behavior in this episode. Some fans are annoyed by how he's still trolling Twilight after all this time, feeling that it undermines the Heroes' Frontier Step he took in the season 6 finale, and his Character Development in general. Others point out that Discord was helping Twilight by making her realize Starlight was ready to graduate, and that this was his tamest scheme yet, the worst possible outcome of it being Twilight getting mildly embarrassed.
• Fanfic Fuel: Twilight's extrapolation of possible future scenarios that Starlight could undertake made for some potential material in some alternate timeline stories.
  • Starlight goes to the Changeling Kingdom to teach Friendship Lessons / Starlight gets betrayed by changelings that enjoy mischief or are still loyal to Chrysalis.
  • Starlight goes to the Dragon Lands to build a friendship with Dragon Lord Ember / Starlight gets harassed and abused by Garble and several other anti-pony Dragons.
  • Starlight goes to the Crystal Empire to learn more advanced magic spells with Sunburst / Starlight and Sunburst cause an accident that leads to their disappearance.
• I Knew It!: Some viewers suspected that Princess Celestia knew all along which ponies would become the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. Celestia's flashback story confirms this, showing Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy when she says "I knew there was a special group of fillies in Ponyville".
• Most Wonderful Sound: Celestia laughing. As in, a straight up belly laugh!
