YMMV / Mokey's Show

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: While Momi is most certainly a "betch" how bad is she really? Throughout the videos, the only people she's routinely unpleasant towards are the main trio (who are all unhinged to various extents and have done terrible things in their own right), who she is perfectly justified in calling the cops on, the police (who are often incompetent and just as complicit in crime as the rest of the cast, with one cop telling the trio where to find a good drug dealer), and most of the guest characters (who are usually also deranged and psychotic). When other characters (such as Dilan's nephews, the flight attendant and the Thanksgiving butler boy) insult her, she actually doesn't lash out at them like she does with the others, with the worst she gets is her fuming at the nephews for calling her fat while almost immediately cooling down and saying things are fine afterwards. To top it off, it's perfectly reasonable for her to dislike Christmas, considering how Mokey goes insane on that day and usually ends up attacking or killing her once she rightfully lashes out over his insanity. This is however countered in the two most recent Christmas specials, where she actively torments Mokey over it (at least supposedly) not being Christmas.
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
    • Every single time Santa or Jesus show up. Especially in the case of Jesus, who gets insta-crufixed and moans if he gets hurt.
    • The 9/11 episode, hands down. A retelling of the event entailing the plane narrowly missing the Twin Towers, prompting the passengers on board to do a Victory Dance, only for the terrorist to shout "ALLAHU AKBAR" and the plane to somersault backwards into the Twin Towers and explode would be hilariously messed up on its own. Now replace all the passengers (including the hijacker) with Mickey Mouse clones who scream gibberish, and the Twin Towers with skyscraper-sized Goofy clones, and it's virtually impossible not to laugh.
    • Momi kills Dewey in Is Not Christmas by sticking a coat hanger into him, making him recede into a less-developed form.
    • Dilan hiring Knecht Ruprecht to discipline his nephews. When they try threatening him, Knecht immediately beats all 3 of them, and Mokey shows up to further salt the wound by turning them into Christmas dinner.
      • Hell, anytime Sukk, Mai and Dick show up and get whooped can count as this. It might be kids getting beaten up, but it's too hilariously executed to not laugh at.
    • The Running Gag in "Missed Christmas" which uses an anti-speeding PSA where a guy crashes his car and barrels into a class of children.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Dilan and Grooby working together to help restore Mokey's Krima spirit in "Missed Christmas", one of the many signs that despite all the zaniness, Grooby and Dilan won't stop until their friend is confirmed okay.
    • Santa meeting Knecht Ruprecht, and recognizing him as an old friend of his in "Painful Christmas". Bonus points go to Knecht cracking a genuine smile when Santa says he'll help him find the right mouse(who happens to be Momi) in place of Mokey.
    • Krampus attempts to goad Mokey into surrendering by threatening Grooby and Dilan during "The Christmas Hope", Mokey is able to refuse by Grooby outright yelling out for Mokey to put them aside for the better of Christmas, and Dilan finally making out a sentence to tell Mokey they love him. The last we see of the two, they both smile as Mokey chooses to fight for Christmas.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: 2022's Christmas episode "Missed Christmas" has Mokey succumbing into despair when he thinks he missed Christmas (as part of Momi's plan). 2023 would be the only year so far to not feature a Christmas episode, as Pelo was unable to finish it in time due to being sick.
  • Moment of Awesome: At the end of "Missed Christmas", Grooby shows a depressed Mokey that Momi lied to him about it not being Christmas, as well as nearly forcing him to kill himself, and when she shows up to kill them all, Mokey, having gotten his Christmas spirit back, gives Momi a MASSIVE No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
    • His similar attack in "Is Not Christmas" counts too, giving Momi a run through of everything he inflicts on her every Christmas, but this time entirely justified for her attempted murder of him. He even caps it off by throwing the stopwatch she used to kill several alternate Mokey's at her, shattering the stopwatch and presumably killing Momi.
  • Squick: The way the Coronavirus...ate people. Poor Jesus has to endure it on camera, while Dilan atleast had the dignity of getting Killed Offscreen by the virus.
  • Unexpected Character: Did anyone expect to see Cirno, Marisa, and Reimu of all characters in "Contagious Christmas"?
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The Video "Mokey's Show - Is Not Christmas" still shows Susan Wojcick as the CEO of YouTube despite stepping down in February 2023.
