- Excuse Plot: We don't even know who the people are or why to care what happens to them, we're just dropped into the plot and told to shoot guys shooting at us.
- Expy: There's one boss that looks an awful lot like a Metal Gear...
- Nightmare Fuel / Paranoia Fuel: Anywhere on Earth, at any moment, you might get taken over by some perfect stranger, who can then use your body to do anything they desire. As shown in one trailer, this can include pulling a gun on a loved one with deadly intentions.
