YMMV / MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The opening theme, "Be My Zombie", performed by Idol College.
  • Complacent Gaming Syndrome: If one plays Story mode first, there isn't much point in using any team other than Blanc and Neptune as they're available from the start and they are the stars of the film.
  • Game-Breaker:
    • The Treasures earned from the Thursday Beginner Quest, when complete and claimed, will give every character a 50,000 AP boost. This provides enough AP to allow any character to become essentially invincible in Story Mode regardless of level.
    • The In-Game cheats from Action Unleashed return and all of them are unlocked simply for beating the game. While they only apply to Story Mode, turning them on makes grinding for levels/treasures/alternate cuts much faster.
  • Moment of Awesome: If the player unlocks all of the Backstage Events, then one will get to see Noire getting the last laugh over the whole "Magical Noirina" debacle when she forcefully drags Blanc out on stage as "Magical Blanella" as payback for the previous blackmail.
  • Sequel Difficulty Spike: Compared to Neptunia U. Mini-bosses and bosses in particular can't be stun-locked and hit much harder than the previous game. Some of the more distinct nerfs are listed below:
    • All characters no longer start with a full combo, even though the full combo charts for each character are accessible at all times. AP must be invested into Tec in order to extend the attack combos.
    • Mini-bosses and bosses cannot be hitstunned
    • Normal monsters have a shorter hitstun window
    • Special techniques drain the MP gauge entirely
    • Remember how Uni was able to shoot repeatedly like a minigun with infinite ammunition in Neptune U by simply holding the Square button? Not only was this ability removed, she now has to reload after every few shots, thus giving monsters more than enough time to close in on her while doing so. Holding the Square button also forces her to automatically strafe after a single burst of fire, further complicating her gameplay.
  • So Bad, It's Good: Blanc's film, which is chock-full of ridiculous twists, developments and acting. It's like fighting your way through a Syfy Channel Original Movie.
  • That One Achievement:
    • Earning all of the Dark History parts can require fighting each and every one of the Eight demons multiple times over until said parts finally drop.
      • This also extends to the treasure trophy as well since, being RNG, the necessary item may drop the 1st time, or the 40th, or even beyond... hair pulling may ensue. That's also not taking into account that certain treasures drop in certain cuts and the game won't tell you which ones...
    • Viewing all of the alternate cuts and Backstage Events. The alternate cuts aren't hard to figure out based on the hints in the Gallery mode, but the hints for the Backstage events are much more vague as there are no means of narrowing down which scene the specific characters need to be used for.
    • Getting a 5,000 hit combo can be all but impossible outside of a trick to turn on the in-game cheats (except for One-Hit Kill) and spam Lily Attacks against the final boss. If everyone is strong enough to kill it before the 5,000th hit... good luck getting that trophy normally.
      • Of course you can always reset your AP distribution to knock your characters' stats to base to get this trick done at high level... but if you aren't using the trick it's certainly going to take a very specific set up anyways and getting hit even once (even if you don't stagger) is going to send that counter back to 0.
    • Bloodlust, which is killing every enemy in the game at least once. It isn't so bad if you're thorough in your murder spree, and remember to do all the weekly quests... but miss one enemy... that's a lot of cuts/quests you're going to have to ream through, and a lot of waiting for those weekly quests if you're not doing it on a Sunday.
  • That One Boss: White Heart is by far the hardest of the four CPUs to fight in Multi Mode as all of her attacks knock the player character back and she is absolutely relentless with her assault.
    White Heart: DIE!
  • Unexpected Character: Who expected the four Dark CPUs to appear in this game? Granted, they only appear as boss enemies in Multi Mode, but there is no foreshadowing about that whatsoever.
  • The Woobie: It's a bit hard to not feel sorry for Noire in her attempt at helping the school with her Magical Noirina video and becoming the target of comment trolls who shatter her confidence and leave her traumatized to the point of not wanting the Film Club to make their zombie movie for fear the same thing would happen to them.
