YMMV / Make Mine Music

  • Adaptation Displacement: The Disney Channel replaced the Benny Goodman score to "All the Cats Join In" with a different song, "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley, for its "DTV" interstitials in The '80s. To this day, some people think "Rock Around the Clock" was there first, despite having come out 10 years later.
  • Cargo Ship: Johnny and Alice.
  • Memetic Mutation: /co/ occasionally has Willie the Whale images being posted in response to inflation/fat threads.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • The wolf's appearance at the beginning of Peter and the Wolf.
    • Willie the whale being harpooned.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • The ending of "The Whale Who Wanted To Sing At the Met".
    • "Without You" is another one.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion:
    • While they are both referred to as hes, Sasha the woodpecker and Sonia the Duck could easily be mistaken for females, if just for their names. (To Westerners, at least; Sasha is a common male name in much of Europe, including Russia, where the story is set.)
    • In one tie-in storybook, Sonia is a girl!
  • Word Salad Title: It's safe to say that Make Mine Music has confused a lot of kids, especially if they haven't yet learned alternate syntax and don't know that "mine" here is a pronoun, not an adjectival noun (i.e., "As for me, I'll take some music"). There have probably been a lot of mistaken notions that the title refers to making music while mining (which really is done in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!).
