YMMV / Los Simuladores

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Some of the simulations seem less about deception and more about making people face, or discover, the truth about themselves. Basically, they use lies to tell the truth. The first episode is a good example, and probably the best. This is even lampshaded by Lamponne (of all people) at the end:
Lamponne: The operative proved that she loves him. If there are problems, they will appear later.
  • Cult Classic: The series has a much devoted fanbase in its home country, despite the fact that it ran only two seasons and isn't much well-known outside said home country.
  • Cross the Line Twice: Milazzo's reaction when he is told that he is being fired from the survival show.
Milazzo:: Why me? Why isn't it decided in a draw or by vote? let put it to the vote, or get the chinese one out.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • Mariana's emotional breakdown on "The Social Debilitator", after being exposed psychologically in the middle of the court.
    • Santos remembering his father in tears.
    • Manzione's crying because of the failure of his "big night", immense frustration, the nostalgic memories of his childhood (induced by a TV advertising of Heidi, which makes the scene even sadder), and the regret for not wanting to be with their loved ones at Christmas.
    • The last reunion, in which the group decided to separate, followed by a montage of scenes and flashbacks, sad music included.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: The series for the most part avoids dating itself, technological advancements aside... up until the finale, when the team's plan to finally get rid of Milazzo (the guy who was seeking revenge on the team for stranding him in the jungle for a year under the pretense that he was in a Survivor-like reality show) is to con him again into making him believe that he is sent to capture Osama bin Laden, which clearly dates the series as being made before bin Laden was found and killed in May 2011.
