YMMV / Lady Lovely Locks

  • Cult Classic: The cartoon and dolls are generally forgotten albeit with a small, loyal fanbase. The audio dramas are regarded as even better than the cartoon, but only came out in Germany.
  • Ear Worm: The main theme is catchy as-is, but the full version with lyrics is even catchier.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Shining Glory among the protagonists, mostly for being the smartest and most competent.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • A princess with long, blonde magical hair, and a raven-haired villainess that wants its power all to herself is similar to the Disney movie Tangled.
    • Many people have noted that the characters for Go! Princess Pretty Cure, both humans and animals, look a lot like the characters from this.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • "The Kingdom of Ice" had Lady and the Maidens captured by plants that squeezed tighter the more they struggled.
    • The audio dramas have Strongheart finally being freed of the curse after nearly dying due to a snakebite, only to have Ravenwaves kidnap his and Lady's child for the kingdom's ransom. Lady falls deathly ill as a result. Ravenwaves also tries to poison them at the wedding and burn down the magical forest, and also works with the witch that cursed Strongheart in the first place.
  • Rooting for the Empire: Quite a few viewers rooted for the Duchess.
  • Tastes Like Diabetes: The opening is narrated by a sugary-sweet man.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • The audio drama had Strongheart finally being freed of the curse after nearly dying due to a snakebite, only to have Ravenwaves kidnap his and Lady's child for the kingdom's ransom. Lady falls deathly ill as a result, and the rescue arc isn't completely resolved by series' end, as it ends before she wakes up the following morning with Leilani safe.
    • The final episode of the cartoon hints at a Heel–Face Turn for the Duchess, as she realizes she's lonely, miserable, and never wins. Lady advises her to be kinder to others, and Shining Glory comments that thinking about a problem is the first step to a solution. Assuming the audio dramas continue where the cartoon left off, not only did she not learn her lesson, she got worse.
  • The Woobie: Prince Strongheart. All he wants to do is be with Lady Lovely Locks and tell her how he feels about her but can't because of the curse, and any opportunity he has of lifting the curse or telling her is always interrupted. "The Wishing Bone" is particularly cruel about this, as he has a chance to use a wish to save himself, but has to save Lady and Shining Glory from Ravenwaves instead.
Strongheart: I was so close... So close to being by your side, Lady Lovely Locks! Give me the strength to set Shining Glory free!
