|These are what we call the 'YMMV items.' Things that some people find in this work. We call them 'your mileage might vary' because not everyone sees these things in the same way. This starts discussions in the trope lists, a thing we don't want. Please use the discussion page if you'd like to discuss any of these items.|
YMMV: La Vie en Rose
- Hollywood Homely: Averted with a passion. Edith is gaunt, bug-eyed, and hunchbacked even as a young woman. Once she is 40 ... well.
- Narm / Wangst: While Marion Cotillard's acting was widely praised, some critics considered it as merely this.
- The Woobie / Iron Woobie: Edith, big time.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Marion Cotillard was later cast in Inception, which features Edith's song "Non, je ne regrette rien" as the music used to "kick" the dreamers out of their dreams.
