YMMV / Khaal: The Chronicles of a Galactic Emperor

• Awesome Art: The design made by Valentin Sécher, from environmental to individual characters has painting-like quality.
• Cry for the Devil: For much of Khaal's flaws, he rants in Volume 2 how he was forced into the life and path he is in due to being born on a prison spaceship and doing what he must to survive, which may elicit some feelings of sympathy from the readers.
• Too Bleak, Stopped Caring: It may be difficult to find investment when the lead is a psychotic Villain Protagonist with almost no sympathetic traits (not even a true Morality Pet), his rivals are slightly less awful than him but still pretty bad people, the setting is a hellhole prison planet where everyone lives in misery and no genuinely likable characters around. And then the comic ends with Khaal getting everything he wants, plus conquering Earth at the end.
