YMMV / Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart

Go To

  • Awesome Music: The opening theme "Shikkoku no Sustain", performed by Asami Imai herself.
  • Die for Our Ship: Needless to say, many NepNowa shippers were not happy with The Secretary's crush on Noire (and vice-versa) in this game, believing that he was nothing more than a flat Self-Insert whose only role in the game was being Noire's secretary and male Love Interest, which more-or-less went against the series' signature Ho Yay by the eyes of many. It helps that this game, and the spin-offs pre-Sisters as a whole, are non-canon.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Even though the game was released on the PlayStation Vita, Uni (who represents both the Vita and its predecessor) is nowhere to be seen. But then you realize that the CPUs of this game are modeled after their Ultradimension counterparts in Victory (with Neptune wearing her Jersey Dress as opposed to her trademark Parka), so it makes sense why Uni didn't appear in this game since she and the rest of the Candidates don't have counterparts in the Ultradimension, which takes place in the 80's when handhelds have not been invented yet.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: During one scene, Vert rants about a character's voice actor changing. Starting with Megadimension, Vert's own English voice actor was changed from Tara Platt to Carrie Keranen (Rom & RED's English VA), a change that was, at the time, proven to be a controversial decision from the directors for many long time fans who were used to Platt's voice as Vert.
  • That One Achievement:
    • 22 of the trophies require maxing out a character's Lily Rank with all 21 other non-DLC characters. This requires using a skill next to each adjacent character a minimum of 100 times. An ideal setup allows one character to spam support skills while surrounded by 4 others, but a single battle of doing that 100 times still takes about 20 minutes. While the process does speed up slightly as more and more characters max out, doing nothing but grinding the Lily Ranks will at least double the playtime of an already 20-30 hour game.
    • It's even worse for Vert and Wyn, whose support skills only cast debuffs on enemies rather than healing/buffing allies and worst of all for Lid, who has no support abilities at all. Save them for last. Alternately, have them be the supporters the entire time, and let everyone else's support skills do the Lily grinding for them.
