- Ass Pull: Hansel and Gretel are defeated by being tricked into eating more Super Truffles, which, rather than making them even stronger, turns them into immobile blobs. This is given no foreshadowing whatsoever, and the closest thing to a justification is an offhand comment from Wolf about the Truffles being "high in fat".
- Awesome Music: For all its faults, the movie's music it's pretty good, with Murray Gold of Doctor Who fame providing the score, and the soundtrack featuring plenty of decent tracks like:
- You Know It by Lavay Cole & Andrea Remanda
- Red's own VA Hayden Panettiere providing two songs: I Can Do It Alone and Inseparable
- Perfect Two by Ceej
- Wayne Newton, Jimmy 10-Strings's VA, also provides two songs: Living In A Fairy Tale (With You) and Look Out Shorty!, with Dan Myers, the songwriter of the songs, providing his own versions of them. Myers also sings the songs Big City and Little Squirrel (Forage For Your Love).
- Fridge Brilliance: Twitchy is noticeably easier to understand in the second movie. Probably because joining the H.E.A. gave him an outlet for all his hyperactivity.
- Memetic Mutation: Watch your tone mfExplanation
- Nightmare Fuel:
- Hansel and Gretel's Slasher Smiles are quite creepy.
- Little Miss Muffit's Spider, with its Red Eyes, Take Warning , Sinister Silhouettes, and More Teeth than the Osmond Family aspects. Its also implied to have eaten Miss Muffit.
- Sequelitis: The film was savaged by critics and viewers for its unlikable characters and Cliché Storm plot that lacked the subversive charm of the first film.
- Signature Scene: Even though the film itself was panned heavily, the scene of the Giant slapping away his rhinoceros henchman has gained memetic traction for being a really good joke in an otherwise unfunny movie.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!:
- One of the original movie's most iconic aspects - its "Rashomon"-Style storyline that was recounted from multiple characters' points of view - is completely absent, which robs the sequel of what made the first movie interesting.
- Many of the changes to the cast's personalities were not received well:
- Red Took a Level in Jerkass, going from a sweet (albeit snarky) girl who could kick butt and take names to a generic tough girl who refuses to work with others.
- Wolf Took a Level in Dumbass, going from a Consummate Professional who took his job seriously to a loose cannon who constantly jeopardizes the mission through his own stupidity.
- Twitchy's iconic way of speaking was changed. In the original movie, Cory Edwards' dialogue was sped-up by approximately 50%, giving Twitchy a distinctively high-pitched, hyperactive voice. In this movie, the voice was pitched up but not sped up, which isn't nearly as funny to listen to.
- Woolseyism: The Brazilian dub changes the Giant's response from "What witch? Which witch?" into "Que bruxa? A minha sogra?" ("What witch? My mother-in-law?"), as "Which witch" wouldn't have translated into a pun like the original was.
