** Such as when he admitted to killing ''his best friend'' Hisashi without remorse because he was jealous that Hisashi was ''[[IfICantHaveYou dating Rei]]''. Takashi even yells at her hours later for bringing him up even though he'd only been dead a short while and she was still mourning him.

** During their escape from the mall, Takashi also forced Hirano to [[KillTheCutie abandon Asami]] to be eaten alive by zombies, purely [[SkewedPriorities to conserve their ammo]]. Hirano [[ScrewThe RRulesImDoingWhatsRight fires a single shot]] regardless so Asami wouldn't have to suffer.

* DesignatedHero: Takashi can sometimes come across as this as he can be extremely abrasive at times. This is best shown by his jealousy against Hisashi even after his death to the point where he shouts at Rei for bringing him up even though he's only been dead for a couple of hours and Rei even grabs his sleeve so he calms down. That being said he's still mostly a well-intentioned and good-natured guy, who puts his life at risk for others, even saving Alice who was a complete stranger at the point.

** In ''"Drifters of the Dead"'', Takashi spends the night [[spoiler:banging Saeko]]... until the morning after reveals [[EroticDream he'd been hallucinating]] and was actually with [[spoiler: a trio of bikini-clad zombies]]. Let ''[[BrainBleach that]]'' sink in.

* DracoInLeatherPants: Shidou, for some, despite or even ''because'' of his status as a CompleteMonster. It also doesn't help matters that he does have a FreudianExcuse backstory where his father's adulterous and emotionally abusive ways caused his mother's eventual death, thus paving the way for Shidou to become the kind of man he is today.

*** Oh, and as if Shidou's willingness to harm his own students (and even murder them; see CompleteMonster) wasn't bad enough, he had to go and get Rei's mother ostracized. Yes, his family finally shamed Rei's entire family. AndThatsTerrible. Perhaps Rei ''should've'' crossed the MEH (see below); it's a wonder the main party found Mrs. Miyamoto alive and not infected after being shut out by her own neighbors following a simple shopping trip.

* CompleteMonster: [[SadistTeacher Kōichi Shidō]] first shows he's a man to fear when, during a zombie attack, a student he's guiding twists his ankle and begs Shidō for help. Shidō's response was to kick him in the face, before gloating over the poor kid's impending death and his own survival by stating that the [[TheSocialDarwinist new world had no place for people that weak]]. Then he uses his position as a teacher to get himself elected leader of the surviving group. Shidō sets out to make himself a cult leader, [[CorruptionOfAMinor promoting sexual activity]] amongst the kids to make them loyal to Shidō. A student doesn't like the action going on in the "orgybus" and asks if he can just be dropped off at his house to see if his family is ok. Shidō and his group, who are at this point a cult, decide that the best way to grant his wish is to throw him out of the bus and let him be eaten. In a ZombieApocalypse, Shidō stands out as [[HumansAreTheRealMonsters eviler and viler]] than any walking corpse.

* DieForOurShip: Rei. ClingyJealousGirl, occasional DistressedDamsel and in the [[FanPreferredCouple wrong corner]] of a LoveTriangle that involves the [[EnsembleDarkhorse fan favorite]]: [[ActionGirl Saeko]].

All for the sake of going out like a badass? Not to mention that your stab wound wasn't even critical and the zombies could have easily been avoided? Enjoy your undignified, lameass death.

* MST3KMantra: The curious interaction between gritty realism and gratuitous, over-the-top RuleOfCool makes this the best reaction to several aspects of the show, especially the matter of zombie navigation. The fanservice is another point of contention to deal with if one is to enjoy the series.

* ValuesDissonance:
** Operating motor vehicles without a license, generally showing independence may not seem so bad, but consider that the series takes place in Japan.
** At the beginning of the series, the moment Takashi realizes that things are gonna get dangerous and crazy, he leaves his classroom and goes out looking for Rei and Hisashi, so he could save his ass and them, leaving the rest of their classroom and probably less important friends (but still friends) to their doom. Even if you consider how easily the whole school fell in a ruckus and everyone lost control of the situation, it's hard not to look at Takashi as a selfish bastard for this.
