YMMV / Henry VI Part 1

  • Memetic Badass: Talbot himself can rout the French army just by the English chanting his name.
  • Values Dissonance: Joan and the French's portrayal is seen as this today. It's probably no surprise that the 2016 adaptation of The Hollow Crown chose to de-emphasize the most negatively-charged dialogued altogether.
  • Fridge Logic: In-universe, as used by the Bard himself. Shakespeare points out that Joan had a lucky strike in her campaigns, because of the beginning strife between the English lords. It is made clear in-play that Joan was able to win, not solely because of divine intervention, but because the English were split, with Somerset consciously sabotaging the war efforts of the duke of York.
