• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • The ending of the film, with Aunt Beverly's compound burning down with Harry and his family inside of it while the FBI surrounds them, looks unnervingly similar to what happened at the Waco Siege twelve years later.
  • Also, the idea of the IRS targeting people for their political beliefs was considered a cartoonish exaggeration of their power at the time. However, after the 2013 targeting controversy and the resulting fallout, many might take pause at this element of the story. ^note  It should be noted that 2013 was far from the first time the IRS has been accused of political profiling.
