- Awesome Music: The first season's theme song, done by En Vogue, as seen here. It's so fun to hear that the later seasons which used "Soul Man" and another original song, don't have that same feel-good beat to it.
- Harsher in Hindsight: In Season 4's Halloween Episode, Mark admits he was scared of Jell-O as a kid (which he attributes to being spooked by The Blob (1958)). He remarks the fear lingers, as he's scared to see Bill Cosby. At the time, Cosby was the pitchman for Jell-O; now, the joke may make one think of the sexual assault accusations against Cosby and his resulting prison sentence.
- Heartwarming Moments: When NFL player Rodney Peete surprised Holly Robinson—and a live studio audience—by showing up during a live taping and proposing to Holly. She said yes, and as of 2022 they are still married, having four children together.
- Retroactive Recognition: There was a character played by a young Dante Basco.
