YMMV / Greek

  • Absentee Actor: Mainly Dale, but Evan and Rebecca have been known to also go missing for an episode or two at a time. In fact, the only main characters to appear in every episode are Rusty, Casey, and Cappie.
    • Anyone outside the main three (and usually Ashleigh) will be absent (without commentary) for random episodes every season. Presumably, this is when these people actually go to class.
    • Probably the most egregious example is in "War and Peace", where Lizzi specifically says that every member of ZBZ must take Frannie back for Lizzi to proclaim the house fit (and finally be gone), and the crux of the episode is whether Casey will welcome Frannie back...except Rebecca is not seen at all in this episode. It might have been justified that pledges were excluded, except several recurring pledge sisters were seen at the ceremony.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Beaver and Heath.
  • Fridge Brilliance: Casey sleeping with Cappie in the Pilot, at first it seems to be easy since he's clearly still in love with her, and she doesn't really seem to be the one night stand type. However, as the series progresses you see that Cappie is the person who would be most likely to get to get to Evan, he's unhappy that she did it, but it's the revelation it was Cappie that twists the knife.
  • Fridge Horror: One of the episodes mentions CRU playing "State" in football. The show takes place in Ohio. That means they played Ohio State, one of the best teams in college football (even if they did beat Wisconsin). The result wasn't mentioned probably to avoid the downer ending that would have been their team getting soundly demolished by OSU.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: In "Liquid Courage" Casey remarks that the Evan's parents dinner "needs DJ AM fast".
    • Cappie and Casey in the pilot since you realise how much she must have been hurt to feel that made them evennote
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Lizzi's plea to her ZBZ sisters to snap instead of clap because clapping is disruptive, after a feminist conference in England took it one step further and asked their ladies to use "jazz hands" rather than clap.
    • In 'All About Beav' Beaver briefly 'discusses' Glee with a janitor. Beav's actor, Aaron Hill, guested on the show half a year after Greek ended. It becomes Harsher in Hindsight as his character is a homophobic bully that drives to suicide Glee recurring character Dave Karofsky.
  • Misaimed Fandom: In the "Great Cappie", Lizzi falls squarely into the lampoon target that Completely Missed The Point of The Great Gatsby.
  • Replacement Scrappy: Fans would much rather have Jen K as Rusty's girlfriend than Jordan, despite the fact that Jen K was The Mole...
  • Villain Decay: Evan
