!! Tropes for the Live-Action movie
* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: [[DoNotExplainTheJoke At the risk of ruining a funny joke]]... early on in the film, only one of the four African guides seems to be able to speak English, despite it being confirmed that the other three can at least ''understand'' it. Midway through the film, when the trio reveal that they ''can'' speak it, their boss, Kwame, gives them a look. Whether this is a look of genuine surprise that they actually can speak English or annoyance that they had ruined a long-standing joke they were playing on Lyle is up to the viewer to decide.
* BetterThanItSounds: Has something of a reputation as being the only good live action film based on a cartoon.
* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: [[Music/ThePresidentsOfTheUnitedStatesOfAmerica POTUSA]]'s rendition of, ''"[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqLKBPK768k George, George, George of the Jungle, strong as he can be...]]"''
* MemeticMutation:
** "Now comes the part where we throw our heads back and laugh! Ready? READY! AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
** "This hurt George. But George not care."
** [[EarWorm The theme]]. WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!
* SoOkayItsAverage: The general view of the Disney film. Most of the praise goes to the film at least being faithful to its source material.
* WhatAnIdiot: In the second movie, the villains have Ursula hypnotized into believing she's married to Lyle, but they never think of hypnotizing Junior too. Also, Junior never thinks of telling his mother that George is his real father until near the end.

!! Tropes for the 2007 Animated series
* AngelDevilShipping: George for his kindness and Ursula (who was Magnolia on Season 1) because of her rude behavior.
* BrokenBase: Fans are divided on which of the 3 TV shows is better.
* FanonDiscontinuity: The 2016 version don't exist in the eyes of the 2007 George of the Jungle's fans. Or many other people, for that matter.
** The 2007 series itself was this in the eyes of fans of the original 60s series and the films.
* FanPreferredCouple: George and Ursula (2007 Version) some people prefer George with Magnolia (being an expy of Ursula of 1967)
* NauseaFuel: The 2016 reboot is generously[[note]]Some people speculate that it might have been more fetishistic in nature, given the similarities to Deviant Art "works"[[/note]] considered a GrossoutShow for a reason. BodyHorror, vore, toilet humor and sex jokes are surprisingly graphic for something out of a canadian children's series.
* TheProblemWithLicensedGames: The 2007 series had a game released on the UsefulNites/PlayStation2, UsefulNotes/{{Wii}} and UsefulNotes/NintendoDS. They were all sidescrollers that were bland at best and [[ObviousBeta outright unfinished]] at worst. The Wii version in particular had bad motion controls that you had to use to play the game.
* SeasonalRot: If the 2016 series can be considered a season; both fans, and even haters of the first season are willing to admit it was better than the second one. Aside from all the changes mentioned earlier, the 2016 show was much more of a GrossoutShow than anything that came before it.
* {{Shipping}}:
** George and Ursula (Gesula) has few shipping moments while got a little more as Magnolia.
** George and Magnolia (Geomag) has more shipping moments on the 2007 series while her name is now Ursula for 2016, there's so much shipping between those two.
* ShipToShipCombat: George/Ursula & George/Magnolia 2016 Version.
* TheyChangedItNowItSucks: A lot of changes were made for the 2016 reboot. Perhaps the most jarring is Magnolia and Ursula have switched names.
** Many felt the same way with the 2007 series.
